Villa Marina

My friend and I had a lovely 5 night stay and were made to feel very welcome. You truly feel part of the extended family. I can't eat meat, due to a genetic disorder. Marina was exceptional in catering me for my veggie needs and every night, I had amazing dinners. The family are just beautiful. Thank you x

This was our second visit to Villa Marina, having last visited in 2019. It was great to be back in familiar surroundings. Our stay was excellent and as previously experienced, the food was wonderful. Happy to recommend Villa Marina for a very good value for money holiday getaway in Crete. Thank you for a lovely holiday and we are sure we will be returning again in the future.

What can I say. These apartments were fantastic. The atmosphere, the family feel about it was amazing. Everyone made us so welcome. They could not have been more helpful. Marina and Tasso made us feel like part of the family for the week. Would definitely go back.

We had a wonderful holiday and received a warm welcome by Marina,Tassos and family. The gardens were beautiful and we stayed in an apartment which was spacious and cleaned daily by the lovely Maria who always greeted us with a smile. Large private ground floor balcony which overlooked the rear gardens with stunning views of the sea, room number 1. Food was delicious and there were daily specials, BBQ night was really good fun, great food and Greek dancing by Spiros. There was also an evening where we ate chicken and various meats off the spit served with oven potatoes in lemon and served with salad, really tasty! The beach was lovely and never crowded with free sunbeds if you had a drink/meal at the couple of tavernas. 15 mins walk down,a little longer to walk back as there is an incline. The bus route was very good so was able to visit other resorts day or night. Marina, Tassos and all the staff work really hard from early morning and we enjoyed late night drinks at the bar until early hours meeting some lovely people here. The pool area is lovely with comfy sunbeds and we were often given fresh fruit and tomatoes from the gardens which were grown by Tassos. Such a friendly place to stay and we were sad to leave. My family stayed at Villa Marina for a week alongside my wife’s family and her mother. We were made to feel welcome and part of the family by the frankly wonderful staff. The complex is small but very comfortable. The facilities are just the right size for the number of people staying there. We never struggled for sun beds or room in the pool The beach is a short walk away and there are restaurants and shops there. There is a wholesaler closer by if you head left out of the complex which solves most of our shopping needs and was cheaper than the other shops. Buses run just outside frequently The food on site is reasonable and of excellent quality - proper home cooked Greek dishes. We ate at Villa Marina most nights. The specials are exceptional and should not be missed. I cannot recommend Villa Marina enough. Well worth booking here

This was our first stay and we loved every minute. we had two rooms and got the air con for both rooms, two boys 16 and 12 stayed in the 2nd room next door. The location is perfect and its very good value for money, the beer is 4E and half craft of red wine is 6E and this was fine too. We had breakfast for 4 every morning and that was great and so cheap. They had a special on every night and the food was so nice and home cooked we had our eve meal here 5 nights out of the 6. The Musaka was amazing and prob my best ever and I've been to Greece about 8 times. Its a 15 min walk to the beach and that's a nice little *****, with a super market called Mikes on the way (my map shown as circle) we found a lovely spot called Mylos (my map shown as Square) they offered free sunbeds if you have food/drink and their beer was only 3.50E. they severed great lunch also, the club sandwich was great for the kids and the stuffed peppers is a must. My wife loved the cocktails here too. We had eve dinner at the Sunset snack bar (my map shown as triangle) one eve and this was great, nice to see the sun set and the food was great. Trips - we done the water park and this is only 10 mins away and the reception sorted this for us and they offer lots of other trips so please ask them. we also done another trip to the caves and Knossos Palace and this was well worth it, with some great views over the day. this is a great find and my son said he is coming back next year and I think we will too.

From the moment we arrived to the day we left it was a fabulous relaxing holiday. I have been to many Greek islands and stayed in a variety of different accommodations , from basic to 5 star & Villa marina is basic accommodation but it is clean and has all your needs cared for by the wonderful owners. It is family run and they are so friendly and marina’s special menu every night is well worth staying in for. The walk to the beach is fine , we did hire a car for 3 days which was excellent value and we got to see a bit more of this lovely island . My only negative was Heraklion airport! We last came to Crete back in 2019 on our honeymoon and tbh I thought the airport was bad then , but with covid etc the past 2 years you would have thought they would have improved things , but unfortunately not , the toilets were a disgrace , no seats, no doors. No soap , no antibacterial gel !!! Too many people allowed through at once to cope It really should have been improved and it has put us off going back to the lovely island .. even the smaller Greek islands I’ve visited have better facilities.. we spent 3 hours sitting on a dirty floor and 30 minutes waiting by the runway !!! No air , no water very distressing .

Having visited Villa Marina many times in the past, it was great to get back in late June/early July to see old friends and new. A relaxing holiday with great food, drink and company, the weather didn't disappoint either. We hope to be back in Crete again in September, and will definitely be staying at Villa Marina again.

Had an amazing time in villa marina , very home from home atmosphere, Marina and Tasos welcomed us from the start as we were all there to celebrate two of our friends 60th birthday , food was great , Rooms basic but clean .
