Premier Inn Hastings

Hotel is very basic. It’s close to a McDonalds for breakfast and Sainsbury’s for things you may need. The hotel is not so well insulated for sound and can be noisy.

Be aware that this hotel is right on the outskirts of Hastings and the bus service on its road is very limited. You have to walk for about a kilometre to get to the bud stop on the paralell road that is better served. Also, beware that the lift does not serve all the floors in the extended part of the property. Apart from the above: A fairly ordinary premier inn with a macdonalds next door and a large sainsburys very nearby.

The first thing to note about this hotel is that it is in St Leonards on Sea, not in Hastings. Granted, it is very close to Hastings, but it is NOT Hastings. The second thing to note is that the main hotel car park here is absolutely hopeless. Littered with pillars and spaces barely big enough for mopeds, parking here is a nightmare. The layout of the car park is also bizarre. There are spaces all over the place, but seemingly drawn on the ground at random. It's a mess. A miserable mess. The good news is that it does have an overflow car park, one that is just a logically marked out square of land. Its not massive, but it is a real boon when faced with the dreadful car park nearer to the hotel. The overflow is pretty close to the hotel as well to be fair. The staff here all seemed lovely. No complaints there whatsoever. Decent, helpful people. The room felt somewhat dated. Not massively so, and not to a degree that would cause me to look to leave or move room. It just felt a bit worn around the edges. One of the principle issues was the bathroom. It was a bit poky and the floorboards leading into the bathroom and immediately inside the bathroom creaked so loud that you felt like you were in a Hammer Horror film. You basically couldn't go to the bathroom in the night without waking up half of the hotel. In addition, with regards noise, it seems as though the ceiling was made out of a thin sheet of MDF - either that or the person in the room above us was the world's heaviest man. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were comfortable - the principle ingredients for good sleep, so no complaints there. The very nature of budget hotels means that they are frequented by the sort of people that have no volume control, and perhaps that was the issue at play here. Maybe the walls/ceiling/doors are all regulation thickness and I'm being unreasonable. Likewise, it might be that my first impression of the hotel (the truly dreadful car park) coloured my view on the place and it was always going to be uphill from that point on. Ultimately it is very close to amenities and to Hastings proper, the room was adequate and the staff were very nice and professional, so I think for that reason it merits a 3/5.

Everything was perfect , value for the money ! Very nice breakfast, washroom enough space , double bed very comfortable and big enough for two people, loved the r bar , friendly staff at the reception, shops nearby in case you needed something quick ! Thank you

Lots of parking at this hotel, with overflow car parks. Restaurant next door, and large Sainsburys around the corner. This hotel was very good because it had a lift, which you don't often find in Premier Inn's.

only picked because it was 1 night only I wish they provided a fridge and at least a microwave in the rooms. You can get an Airbnb for same price but offer a lot more.

Just returned from a very pleasant one night stay at this hotel. Very warm and friendly welcome from Curran on reception. Room was exactly what we appreciate about Premier Inns. Very nice room, spotlessly clean, fabulous shower, high quality bed and pillows. Ample parking, including electric charge points. Thank you.

We always look to stay at Premier Inn whenever we go away as you can usually rely on the same good standards across the range. Unfortunately we were not very impressed with our stay at this Premier Inn. We had booked for two nights but decided to leave early and only stay one night. The room didn't smell very fresh as we entered and the sofabed was filthy. The bath was stained on the non slip area and needed to be bleached. We also has a small hole in the bath so couldn't use it for an actual bath as water could have leaked out into room below. The air con unit made so much noise that we had to turn it off and open the window for cool air instead but this meant we could hear loads of noise from people coming and going in the carpark and also lots of shouting from the MacDonalds opposite. This has put us off chancing Premier Inn for our next short break. The staff were great though.

I stay in Premier inns a couple of times a month and never write reviews on them because they are always just average at best. However, this one is different, the entire staff are so kind and attentive. In the restaurant they are fun and friendly, making a solo traveller feel very welcome. In particular, the lady with a pireced eyebrow is an excellent barmaid.
