I was put in Room #1, feeling pretty tired after working in the field for more than 12 hours and driving long distances, on 19 Oct 2013. The room was dark. By the time I noticed how dirty the room was it was too late to find a new one. The carpet was very dirty and obviously not cleaned for days if not weeks; the sink faucets had scum around them, the soap dispenser and the soap container were dirty. The shower was dirty, the light switches have obviously not been cleaned for a long time. The string for the light switch was black with dirt. The bed linen seemed clean but I still had to lay my clean clothes on the bed to get some sleep.The room was not worth the $105.00. Perhaps one gets a better room if one Caucasian.

Great customer service. Friendly, welcoming and professional. Excellent location and facilities. Handy to the hospital and main town center. Very comfortable and clean. They go the extra mile to ensure that your stay is an enjoyable one. Complimentary laundry facilities were much appreciated.

The owners of this place are horrible and rude. Only like to be lovely to “certain” guests, otherwise you get spoken to like your dirt. They cant even handle matters over the phone, disgusting service. Travelled from Wairoa to be with family in hospital. Father booked a room for the night for us, when my partner and son went there they took the key off them and kicked them out. When i rung to discuss the matter the Female owner when i had said “my partner and son just got kicked out im calling to see why this wasnt handled better” all she did was yell and say “well they arent the guests” then left the phone. When i called again the Male owner answered and decided to be smug and say “so what do you want a room tonight or what”. Disgusting behaviour. I can understand that my partner isnt the guest on their system but it did not need to be handled like that. Just rude, ignorant people. But hei aha, look forward to your irrelevant response if you have one.
