I've had to stay here several times for work... Reception staff are clueless, they just want to give out keys. When I asked to speak to the manager as I simply wanted to move rooms to a quieter location ( on check on) but was told I couldn't ( they were not willing to even try and help) - I was told the manager comes and go but is rarely on-site. It has a Lift Decent parking for vans (at the back) Not far from a Waitrose (5 min drive ) They seem to be running on a very limited number of staff,there is often 1 person multi tasking by allocating the tables and serving / taking order for breakfast so it's super slow, which is frustrating when we are there on business.

First premier room had no working heating whilst -1 outside, moved to another room bin full of previous guests rubbish heater not working. Reported issue to reception promised to service the room, we visited Harrogate and returned to room had not been serviced. Restaurant closed so we had to find a local restaurant to eat. This Premiere inn is shambolic no management and the the place is falling apart. No clean towels and when we requested cleaned towels advised we have run out this is our last Premier inn stay absolutely disgusting

Maintenance at this hotel let it down, lights that didn’t work and then our door ran out of battery so we couldn’t leave it without being locked out. It wasn’t fixed before we left the next day. No cleaning of the toilet in reception so there were two days of vomit and faeces there, unusable but we didn’t have a choice as we were locked out of our room

We had planned a relaxing pre-Christmas break in Harrogate but felt quite let down by this Premier Inn. On arrival, we discovered the only access to the hotel was up steps, with no ramp. If we had known this, we would not have booked this hotel. Some of these steps were broken and unsafe. I have no idea why the management hadn’t fixed this as it made the hotel look neglected. The steps were difficult enough to negotiate with luggage, but treacherous for anyone with a mobility problem. After we had checked into our room, which was ok, apart from the rather worn-looking bathroom, we went back out for the evening, only to discover the lift was broken. Reception said it wasn’t the first time it had happened that week but showed no sense of urgency to get it fixed ! I told the receptionist I had recently had knee surgery and was going to struggle to walk up to the 2nd floor. He was completely unsympathetic and couldn’t even give us any idea how long it would take to get the lift fixed. We asked to change to a ground floor room, but he told us these rooms had a mould problem ! We really felt he could have tried harder to help us. There were other issues here too, such as the restaurant being shut in evenings, and the free WiFi not working. Another annoyance was that every day our room cards stopped working and we had to trek all the way back to reception told get them reactivated. All in all, not the Premier Inn experience we have come to expect.

Although our room was as expected, we were very disappointed by the standard and service at breakfast. This was not the usual buffet style. We ordered what we wanted then waited over 45 mins for it to arrive. People after us were waiting even longer. When it did arrive, the bacon was completely over - cooked as were the scrambled eggs. I don’t think we would return to this particular Premier Inn.

We checked in and quickly went out to catch our concert. Returned late and tired so didn't 'inspect' the room and bathroom. After a terrible nights sleep (very noisy neighbours) and a 6am wake up by the children in the room above running riot I discovered the hairy bath surround, a long hair and two short and curlies. The worst thing was what looked like to be blood on the wall (photos supplied). We waited to check out and listened to the lady in front of us trying to complain about her breakfast experience, the staff weren't interested. We also tried to report our complaints to reception but again the staff didn't want to know, "go and report it on the website they said, we can't do anything about it " So I would NOT stay here ever again. One of the worst hotel stays I have ever experienced.

Premier Inn restaurant not serving food this month (drinks only), cooked breakfast cancelled this morning without notice, reception unstaffed to assist with housekeeping - This Premier Inn has recently had redundancies and unfortunately this may have impacted service.

This particular Premier Inn has gone downhill since our last visit last year. The food was terrible, badly cooked..most items overcooked and cold. Waited an hour for breakfast the first morning, and then the chef had missed several items off 2 of the breakfasts. 2nd morning, not much better. Bacon so overcooked it was see through and rock hard. A bed was completely missing for one of our group so he had to stay with family in Harrogate despite me booking the family rooms for 3 people. The 3rd bed in our other room wasn't made up either for one of our children, so that had to be done. We actually chose this hotel over the Premier Inn in town because this one used to be better. Never had an issue with beds not ready before and the food was always decent too Won't be going back to this one now.

Our visit started with a poor impression when we arrived and wished to tell reception we were parking our car, travelling to York by train, and would check in on our return. Reception was unmanned at 12.30pm, no-one appeared when we rang the desk buzzer, and after waiting 5 minutes we left. On returning mid-evening to check in, we had a lengthy wait while the sole person on reception dealt clumsily with an overbooking/double booking issue affecting a severely disabled guest. All in front of us and other guest waiting to be served. Very poor customer relations (and we hope the lady affected takes the matter forward and that lessons are learned...) Room was ok-ish apart from a defective shower curtain, mould along some of the tile grout lines, and a toilet seat that didn't match the profile of the rim of the toilet bowl. One of the drinking glasses was dirty, and our window was filthy on the outside. The public rooms were spoiled by smeary windows and some obvious lack of good housekeeping. We didn't use the restaurant facilities and took breakfast at the nearby Yorkshire Cancer Research Centre, which is cheerful and serves good value, tasty food daily from 10am. Having paid £120-plus for a standard room, we felt this Premier stay was not up to standard and fell well below the benchmark set by (usually cheaper) Holiday Inn Express hotels where we prefer to stay
