Holiday Inn Express & Suites Harrisonburg – University Area

Was a quick overnight stay while passing through town.. Room was clean and modern. Beds were comfortable and Breakfast was decent with multiple options . I was pleasantly surprised . Price was reasonable . I have paid a lot more for “fancier” hotels that ended up being a disappoin**ent . Would definitely recommend! A little disappointed that I couldn’t get Netflix on TV but not a deal breaker

We were completely surprised at just how clean the room was - through and through. We will definitely look to return to the Holiday Inn Express when we come back to Harrisonburg.

Convenient, friendly and clean!

Very clean hotel and nicely updated. Easy to get to and near a lot of places to eat. The staff was very polite and friendly. The beds are hard as a rock, but that’s okay. Lots of options for snacks in the lobby which was great after a long day of traveling and going to Massanutten. We would stay here again if in the area.

Overall the property and room were new, nice, and clean. It may seem like a small thing, but the window had a blackout shade set in a track so no light got in from outside. That was nice. Biggest negative was the staff member at the desk when we checked in. We rented a suite with a pullout couch, which we needed for our kids. I put in our reservation note that we needed sheets for that bed. When we got there, she gave us sheets, but no blanket. We assumed one would be in the room. There wasn’t. My wife went down and asked for one, along with a couple more towels. She said she would look and bring one up. We waited an hour without hearing anything. I went back down and asked if she had found a comforter or blanket. She said she would grab a comforter. Problem solved. Except she came back and handed me a flat sheet. I said, “That’s not a comforter,” and she looked very confused. I asked for a blanket and she told me they were “all out”. The hotel was far from full and we could have just gotten a comforter from an unoccupied room, but she seemed more interested in eating with her boyfriend in the lobby than making an effort to help find a blanket for my kids. Also, somewhat minor, but we were planning to swim, but the pool was cloudy, unclean, and we decided not to. There are plenty of other options, so we will stay elsewhere next time.

We had an accessible room. Everything was clean and in good working order. My only comment is the lack of gluten free options for breakfast. When I asked I was told there was eggs and sausage. But no gluten free cereal or breads.

I can say absolutely nothing negative about this property. The staff was friendly, accomodating, and eager to assist. Our room was spotless and comfortable. And I love that they provide free bottled water during your stay. Would stay again and highly recommend this hotel.

Rooms are spacious,updated and everything was very clean. Breakfast was not the best though.

We’ve had many visits to Harrisonburg as a JMU parent and this was the best hotel we’ve stayed at by far!! I will continue to use. I hope the price stays affordable
