The Lucky 3 is like so many of the other nondescript hotels tucked away in the old quarter of Hanoi. Were it not for the small blinking sign over the sidewalk you could easily walk by it and not even know it was there. However, it is in a great location of the city - close enough to the action but far enough away from the clutter, chaos and noise. The hallways and rooms are compact but accessible. Like every other hotel I stayed in during April and May 2022, this hotel was still recovering from the setback of the two year closure forced by the government due to Covid. The restaurant was closed, but they did provide room service for breakfast and the service was always friendly and good. There was a rooftop bar which was open and it provided a nice but somewhat limited view because of the other taller buildings nearby. The hotel was economically priced and good value for money.

We'd booked the night before we arrived in the morning so we could go to our room and catch a few hours sleep before sightseeing for the day after travelling overnight and not being able to book in until 2pm. We'd told them all this and they had confirmed. When we got there, not only had they taken the money because we were a 'no show', they'd resold the room! We were very tired and weren't leaving. They gave us a 'make up' room without a window, let alone a view! When we left, they had realised they had messed up and offered us half price rooms on our next visit in a proper room. By then it was too late, we'd already booked ahead. It's OK, maybe, if everything goes right. Honestly, I wouldn't take the risk.

Felt cat-fished by pictures and previous reviews. Wi-Fi is horrible, bed feels like a plank of wood with sheet. Both of our rooms between the 4 people I travelled with had horrible experiences. Shower in room was a glorified kitchen sink sprayer. Soaked our whole bathroom and didn’t have towels to clean it up. Room was covered in dust and dirt. Staff was not overly kind or gracious like some reviews say.

We rented the Deluxe Twin room in the hotel. The room was extremely small, we had to stack furniture on top of other furniture (chairs and tables) to be able to unpack and move. The room only had one window blocked by a concrete wall which was so close you could actually touch it. The door to the room has a very weak lock that you can easily pick on and open with a hairpin. I would not recommend leaving anything valuable in the room as everybody can easily get into the hotel.

Sent here by Hanoi Lotus Boutique Hotel as they didnt keep our reserved room and claimed this was their sister hotel. Our room with a terrace was clean and big although it was not maintained well as the jacuzzi and some lights were not working.

Great location, conveniently close to everything but amazingly silent at night. The room and washroom were in good condition though there's stains in the washroom walls that make it seem dirty despite it getting properly cleaned by staff (needs better maintenance).

I booked 7 days, but stayed only 6 days because I had to go elsewhere. I left the hotel on February 22 instead of 23.
