This hotel was once 5 star - but, in our opinion, not any more. The design of the hotel is fabulous but the upkeep is not! When we were shown our apartment block, the ground floor entrance stank of cat urine for 3 days until it was properly cleaned. Each day the stairwells had piles of dirty glasses/crockery which had been cleared from rooms and was left there for 2/3 days. The lift worked sporadically. The toiletries provided are minuscule and not replaced daily - twice we had to request conditioner and towels were not replaced in our room two days out of seven, meaning we had to ring reception to request some. When we did so, we had to wait an hour for them to arrive. Like many others who have reviewed this hotel, both myself and my partner were ill for most of the week; much of the buffet food was warm when it should have been hot. We paid for a late check out room, but the receptionist we spoke to when sorting this out was begrudging and we were made to feel like we were causing her such an inconvenience. All other staff were lovely.
