This motel is more quiet than others we’ve stayed at in Gympie, set slightly off the highway. Clean and tidy. Easy check in and check out.
Only real negative was the skylight, lighting up the room.

Easy to find just off the main highway but an easy 10 minute stroll into the centre of Gympie. Clean room with comfortable beds.

Unfortunate circumstances caused us to find a place for the night or two and so glad we found Shady Rest. Clean and tidy, wonderful operator, great hot shower, towels and toiletries, and a comfortable bed. Will definitely book again when needing accommodation in Gympie.

What a disgrace. I booked and paid for my room direct only to arrive 7 mins before closing to be told my room has been re sold. My phone had gone into sos mode while I was driving so I didn’t receive message from motel. I work in accomm and we do no shows with payment in full. I had no other option for accommodation at nearly 7pm at night in flood affected area. I’ve heard so much negative stuff about this place and now I know why. So poor. Give it a miss

This motel was clean and rooms were very well serviced. Towls and toiletries supplied every day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A pool after a hot day was amazing or just a sit by the outside table to enjoy some quiet time.

Single night last minute check in just before close. Very friendly check in. Parking at the door of room. Older but clean rooms. Usually shampoos and coffee accompaniments. Good Quiet Aircon. Comfortable bed. No complaints. Slept well. Thank you.

Incredibly clean, facilities are basic and in truth, the Shady Rest it's not the most modern place. But, they keep the property up to date. A new cushion or two on the little sofa, the floors are new. Hot water and showers great and the bed are comfortable. Their Internet connection is FANTASTIC - their catered breakfasts are great value, but this trip I need to diet... and the air condition system works ... The lovely lady at Shady Rest Reception is cheerful and we hope to see you off your crutches very soon.
