Ecolodge Bahia del Penon

The location is awesome. You have a great view of the lake below and the Piedra de Penon towering over you. The small unit had 2 beds, a small dining table, a toaster oven, fridge and a small but complete bathroom. We were just one building over from the sauna, which we did use for about 1/2 hour. It was nice that they were able to provide dinners to prepare onsite. The road into and out of the ecolodge is a Nigh**are! Once we arrived and checked in, we knew we were staying put for the night. Also, the signage is confusing getting to the registration place. You need to keep driving straight ahead, but the directions you receive from them appear to indicate that you pull up into the driveway to cabin number 9, which is Wrong! Then, turning around is also difficult, as the 'road' is really designed for traffic to go either in or out, but not to change directions at some midway point. Their information indicated that you could rent a canoe and go out on the lake, which we did not do, but which I believe would be a lot of fun if you had a couple of hours of daylight to play with. Bottom line--it's a great place and a unique location, but be prepared for a quiet time once you arrive and not to go out and come back in after your check-in.

Luis the maintenance man was really nice. The breakfast is, make it your self type of deal. There was a party in room below ours. Loud music all day and all night. Helicopters flying all day. There was not way to infoce quit hours. A terrible night!

This was an absolutely amazing property, super serene and located around a gorgeous lake! Our cabin was situated with the balcony looking onto the lake, and there was beautiful nature all around, so many birds chirping in the morning it was an absolute delight! The road getting to the property is very bumpy but there are tuk tuks located at la piedra and also at the Guatapé city that will bring you in and operate at a fixed rate so you don’t have to worry about gringo pricing :) would highly recommend!

Great lodge overlooking the rock of guatape! Highly recommend this place. You will need a rickshaw to get to town as the lodge is far down a dirt road, but the staff can arrange transport easily. The wifi is a bit slow but it is understandable as it is in a more remote location. I would definitely stay here again!

I highly recommended the place to e every one traveling in group, or with families in the pursuit of scenery change. The staff is great. All the room have the lake views , and the Pegnol is near buy with a group of vendors surrounding the penol ready to help and assist, including our neighborhood.

Perfect place to escape from the noise, the views are amazingly beautiful day and night time. So peaceful. I definitely will stay here as many time as i can. LOVE IT.

The location is just amazing. The staff was very friendly and frequently ran the extra mile. The rooms were comfortable and the views unbeatable. I can’t wait to be back, but next time for longer! Will definitely recommend!

Une super découverte. Nous avons beaucoup aimé ce petit hôtel au bout du chemin, a 10 mn en voiture de Guatape, et tout près du Peñon à gravir. La vue sur le Penon est d'ailleurs incroyable. La chambre triple est confortable. Eau chaude, WiFi. Tout pour se préparer le petit déjeuner. Valentina et Luis ont été des amours, toujours serviables et souriants. Ne pas manquer le jaccuzzi en option, avec vue sur le lac. Je recommande !
