We had originally just booked a few nights in Barcelona, but decided to extend our trip to explore some of the nearby wine region and were so happy we did! We stayed for two nights in this very charming hotel in November which was a very easy drive from Barcelona. I guess because it was low season, we found ourselves to be the only guests which was a shame for the hotel as they didn't deserve to be so empty, but lucky for us! Christina looked after us very well and served delicious breakfast, which although were not hot were very tasty and more than enough to set us up for the day. There were cheeses, hams, croissants, cereals, toast and baguette, all fresh and delicious. A dinner one night was also included which again was delicious. We had room 9, which was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. There was also a decent side bathroom with large walk in shower. You just need to watch your head on the sloped ceilings if you are tall! The location is in a picturesque village, perfect for exploring the area and our stay also included a couple of wine tastings in nearby wineries, both of which were friendly and poured impressive wines. We were glad we brought our wine suitcase and brought a few bottles home! The hotel also has the most beautiful views, and there is a village courtyard in front of the hotel which was completely empty whilst we were there and where we enjoyed a glass of some of the wines we purchased. Even in November, it was warm enough to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. We had one meal in a restaurant in the village called 'Slate' which we enjoyed very much. Would recommend. We also visited the monastery nearby and the adjacent winery, both which are worth a visit. We were both taken by this area of Spain and this welcoming hotel. We were well looked after and would highly recommend.
