Hotel l'Esplanade

L'Esplanade never fails. Kristin and staff provide everything a couple needs for maximum relaxin'. Sixteen years running, there's no other place we'll ever stay in the Caribbean. We're even thinking of sharing the secret with friends now... maybe. TIPS: Ask the front desk to make your dinner reservations in Grand Case - they've got pull. Take the airport pickup and have your car rental ready at the hotel. Swim in the evening when the sun is down (though the bar is closed). Take half the clothes you're thinking of packing (they air-dry well). Fill your room fridge with L'Express and Bacchus (but beware the croissant-stealing doves). Explore off the beaten path, like Happy Bay. (Skip the Dutch side.)

I have no words to truly describe our stay here... but it was incredibly memorable! After reading the reviews I knew we picked the right hotel for our getaway which was much needed after my four grueling months of chemotherapy. My husband had business on the island and we decided to escape to the French side where there were less tourism and traffic. Upon arriving the hotel we drove around to get a feel for the small, cozy, tight community area. Excellent restaurants, adorable boutiques, beach bars, music and more. L'Esplanade Hotel welcomed us with a grand entrance smile. Fell in love immediately with the grounds which was beautifully kept. The outdoor entrance for checking in was so inviting with colorful tiles and grand view of the Grand Case Bay ocean waters. Mediterranean decor throughout the property with unique pieces to accent it all. Janice, receptionist, had a 1000 kilowatt smile and warmly welcomed us. To our surprise they had a gift for us in our room (celebrating our anniversary and completing my cancer treatment) priceless and very meaningful. I loved our room, it was sensational- it felt like home with exceptional teakwood furniture, beautiful decor, lucious bed, gorgeous scenery, spacious long balcony, and A/C always keeping the room prefect while humidity tried to seek in. All I can say is WOW it was a slice of Saint Martin heaven. I loved starting the day with a tasty breakfast (breads, fruits, yogurts, cereals, juices) overlooking the lovely view along with the iguanas and birds. I booked a spa appointment with the talented Simone, oh that deep tissue was magnificent and hypnotic. It was therapeutic and after a long trip from San Diego it was perfect. The hotel was quiet since its 'quiet season', we walked the grounds and then visited the pool area and bar. Frank and/or Francesca attended our thirsty needs with a contagious Carib smiles. Great music, friendly, fun conversations we instantly felt like we've known them for a long time. We laughed and rested while admiring this resort's surroundings. Everyone was family, others showed up and it felt like the TV show "Cheers' where everyone knew each other - especially Marc. ;) Another benefit of staying here is you have access to their sister hotel Le Petite which is located right on the beach! Janice will contact the hotel and let them know we are on our way. We took advantage of spending the day at the beach and welcome by Remy who runs the hotel. Two chairs, towels, and umbrella was ready for us. Again 5 star service all the way! I can't say enough about my vacation and this resort but hopefully my photos will share our enthusiasm and love for this place. I look forward to coming back and seeing old friends again. This was one of my favorite hotels in the world! Everything was perfect - the owners, the staff, the property, the room, the bed, and the views! It was also convenient for walking to nearby restaurants and bars. They also provide a shuttle into town at night if you are not into walking. We have already made reservations for next year!

Wonderful hotel and visit to Saint Martin. This was our first trip to Saint Martin and booked last minute - we loved the location, warm welcome, yoga and spa facilities (Massage with Elodie!). Thank you Kristin, Marc and team. We hope to return soon.

Great stay at Hotel L"Esplanade and thanks to Kristin and her staff. Our room and view were great and we loved the grounds and the easy walk into Grand Case. If we are fortunate to return to St Maarten in the future no doubt we will stay at Hotel L"Esplanade again.

The service was 5 star. They responded with extreme friendliness and service. The view was fantastic and the free pastries made you feel French. It was also very close to some of the best restaurants on the island. You have to go to Lolo’s for local fair and Ocean 32 for upscale.

A real gem in Saint Martin! This hotel location is perfect to explore Grand Case and dine on restaurant row as well as walking to the beach. The property is meticulously kept in a real sight to see! Also, just a short drive to some destinations like Orient Bay and Marigot

The words are not enough to describe this Hotel. Amazing Hotel, great location, superlative staff. From the hotel location , you have access to beautiful beaches , exceptional restaurants and food, and very good beach clubs. Me and my wife we will back.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel L'Esplanade. The hotel is in a great location with an easy walk to restaurants and the beach. Additionally, all of the wonderful staff working at the hotel made the stay even better. Would definitely stay here again.
