Nice location, starts kind of in the middle of the trail along the Canyon. We went in one direction the day we arrived and the opposite the following morning. No pictures can describe the magnitude and depth of this area. What I didn’t see anyone mentioned and came as a surprise is that admission to the National Park is $35 per car for 1-7 days. Also that because of the elevation it’s quite chilly even though it’s sunny. The view is truly grand! The deli at the market offers variety of hot sandwiches, a cup of soup with a juicy chipotle chicken sandwich was a great way to finish the evening.

Strange that you have to check in again on the 2nd day of your stay to be able to open your room door. Furthermore, it is a great location a stone's throw from the rim, with many facilities, helpful staff, and accommodation that is completely in style.

The hotel is very beautiful. I was fascinated by the animal specimens decorated inside. The hotel room was small, but the staff at the reception was very warm and friendly. I agreed that we had several meals in the hall. We mainly like the atmosphere of the hall. We also Drinking at the hotel, other hotels have a lot of rules, this hotel feels very relaxed, in the morning, I also happened to meet the sika deer, completely unprepared, very pleasant surprise, very close to the helicopter club, it is very convenient to go to the plane to visit, the scenic area is also very Nearly, driving for ten minutes, there is a Mexican restaurant on the opposite side that is very delicious. The air conditioner is noisy, the environment is good, the cabin has a special experience, the others are satisfied!

The reason why we chose Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel was because we estimated the arrival time and the sunset time of the day. In order to see the unparalleled beauty of the Grand Canyon under the afterglow of the sunset, we chose to stay near the scenic area as much as possible. It turned out that the choice was completely correct. When we rushed to the observation deck on time, it was sunset. The Grand Canyon under the sunset glow was like a fairyland, which was fascinating.

Amazing experience in an awesome venue sat right on the rim of the Grand Canyon. The food and drink in the bar was first rate - as was the service. Housekeeping seemed to knock stupidly early, but went with a shout. If your budget allows, have a rim view/suite as the experience of watching the sun rise/set over the canyon is worth the extra cash. The car park is a bit of a nightmare, but one option is to park out of the park in Tusayan and catch the shuttle to the Train Depot stop.

Kachina Lodge is a very good choice for a trip to the Grand Canyon. Located inside the park in Grand Canyon Village, one could literally throw a rock from the lodge into the canyon. It sits on the east end of the village, just west of the El Tovar hotel, and just east of the Bright Angel lodge. This makes it very convenient to the El Tovar dining room, the most elegant dining venue in the park, and the more downscale Fred Harvey Burger in the Bright Angel Lodge, as well as the other amenities around the Bright Angel Lodge. The Kachina Lodge itself is older, built in 1968, but clearly renovated. It's comfortable, and clean. Check in for the Kachina Lodge is actually in the lobby of the El Tovar Hotel. The biggest issue is parking, but that is an issue anywhere in Grand Canyon Village. You may find yourself parking a quarter mile from the lodge. I would recommend checking in at the El Tovar, then parking wherever you can find a spot at the time. Often, as day visitors leave after sunset, parking spots closer to the lodge will open. You can then dash out and try to move your car to a closer space. Staying at the Kachina was a bit of an accident for us. I had wanted to stay at the El Tovar. However, having been ”boots on the ground”, I think I would stay at the Kachina Lodge again.
