What a pleasant stay indeed, and catering was excellent! Just a thought, as an architect by profession, your street facade needs a lot of attention. The first impression is one of a closed down business complex! There is no visual signage (I know it is up on the gable) but you need to announce yourself with signage on eye/street level.

The new owners Jenny and Sebastiaan were the perfect hosts for our stay at Manor on the Bay. You can't find more friendly, warm, helpful, and dedicated owners than this couple. They told us about this heritage Manor built in 1862, and showed us with enthusiasm books with the history of the place. They handed us a very helpful and detailed document with all the attractions and activities around Gordon's Bay and the whole area up to 2 hours drive away. Thanks a lot. And the rooms are spacious and spotless clean, the views are stunning, and the beach just across the street. Simply a beautiful setting, you can't ask for more. The breakfast buffet has everything you need, and eggs are made to order by Jenny who made the best omelette I had during our holiday in SA. And the place is secure and within walking distance to restaurants. We had many great talks and left there having made new friends - can't wait to return to Manor on the Bay.

The location is ideal. Gordon's Bay is a nice little town, not far from Cape Town or the airport. The setting is spectacular, with mountains and sea, and the beach is protected from major waves. There are a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance. The town is safe and the property secure. There is a beautiful drive along the coast towards Betty's Bay, which I highly recommend. There is a colony of African penguins there. Big Skies has a small pool, which we used in the heat of the afternoon. The breakfasts were very good, and there was a decent amount of variety. I enjoy the personal attention of guesthouses and small hotels, and Kobus and Irene were excellent hosts. Conversation at breakfast and the bar with them and other guests was enjoyable. Parking is inside the property gates and is secure.

We had one night at Berg en Zee after flying into South Africa from Australia. The accommodation was perfect with arrangements made for us for a late check in. Excellent communication with Kerry prior to our arrival. Letitia was great and organised everything for our late night arrival including fresh milk in the fridge so we could have a tea or coffee on arrival. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was great and included pastries, cereal, fresh fruit and a few a la carte options. Highly recommended.

Genuinely the most accommodating guesthouse host you could possibly meet! Debbie is absolutely fantastic and does everything she possibly can to ensure you have the best stay. All the little touches were really appreciated, the entire staff go above and beyond and are all super friendly. The house itself is in a brilliant location with incredible views over the bay. It’s secure, well kept, homely, and has everything you need including good wifi immune from loadshedding. Highly highly recommend and will hopefully be back in the future. Spent an evening here for our wedding anniversary. The accommodation was everything you would expect from a 4 star establishment. Room beautifully decorated and comfortable. The talking point for us was the view form the veranda and braai area. We could see part of the view from our room as only some of the rooms have a full view, but this is understandable. Breakfast was fine, but you would expect a bigger variety. We felt welcome and could enjoy sundowners on the balcony and actually thought of having a braai at this beautiful place, but opted to go out for supper as the evenings are chilly during this time of the year. Overall, a place we would gladly recommend.
