Hesla Farm

A very interesting location. We didn’t stay in one of the old buildings instead a more modern old home. It was well appointed, spacious and comfortable! Very happy with our stay!

This is a super charming place to stay, and perfecly situated not far from Hemsedal. The surroundings are authentic, yet with all facilities on point, and the staff is very welcoming and service-minded. I can warmly recommend this place.

My wife and I went to spend Easter in Gol to do some activities and we found this super nice farm. Ligia spoiled us with a great welcoming and everything from there was just perfect! The Stabbur has an old-times charm with many modern facilities so you'll feel comfortable. The breakfast is amazing with homemade bread and fresh eggs right from the hens. The farm is perfect for kids so they can interact with the animals at the farm, it is also conveniently located 10 minutes walking from Gol Sentrum and many attractions around. Super recommended!

Host changes better room for us. Thank you for her kindness. She is really nice and warmhearted. Love to stay here in farm liked house designed in old fashioned stlye. Bed is warm and we sleep well. Fon

Hesla Gaard is a historic farm with many small buildings and very nice staff. The breakfast was excellent and freshly prepared every time. Our very large room was furnished with old farm furniture. The kitchen was well equipped. We were especially pleased with the many small kindnesses: A small bottle of sparkling wine, fruit, flowers, and a prepared barbecue. The way to the village (Gol) was short, the village is interesting and nice. We would very much like to come again!

We stayed in the basic room which was nice but could have been cleaned better. The personnel is really nice and helpful. Our room was located fairly close to the road and was not very well insulated so it was a bit noisy time to time. Considering the price it was good. For some extra money you can get another type of rooms which looked really nice and folkloristic. Located in strategic position.

As a native, and an extensive world traveller - who also has travelled quite a bit in this region (since I was a child 40 years ago)... I can honestly say, this is the best stay I’ve had anywhere in this region, ever! In fact, it was so good that we chose to change our travel itinerary just so we could spend another night here. Our hostess, a warm and friendly woman from Columbia, delivered a truely outstanding "authentic" Norwegian experience. I say "authentic" in quotation marks, because the true authentic Norwegian experience would most likely entail far less value for money, far less service mindedness, far more industrial made food, far less attention to detail and quality, and far less warmth. From the second we called late the evening before to book, to the final moments of our stay, we were treated with so much genuine warmth that we thought we would never want to leave. One often expect that the online presentation is not representative - not the case here. Every nook and cranny in this place meets or exceeds the presentation. The breakfast is simple, yet very delicious. Everything is locally sourced or home made. The eggs from her own hens, the rich butter from a local dairy, the jam home made, the orange juice freshly squeezed, the freshly brewed coffee piping hot, the bread freshly cooked in the outdoor wood fired oven - presented and brought to our room in a nice basket. The buildings are ancient. You feel like you live in a museum - only with modern amenities (delicately integrated with the old - as if they constructed such things 200 years ago). As we were to leave on our motorcycles early in the morning, our hostess made an early breakfast just for us in the old barn - going over and beyond There is no dinner service here. This is no problem as the center of town is only a short walk away (we never used the kitchenette, which seemed decently equipped). We have another moto trip planned to the region in two weeks time (end of May). There is no doubt where we will be staying.
