This smaller family run hotel has only a dozen or so rooms on 3 floors. Access is difficult at present while the town carpark is being redeveloped, and I do not think that disabled access would ever be feasible as the cobbled path to the side door is very steep, and there are only quite steep steps from the main road. However, for the able bodied, luggage is moved around by the hotel staff. Particularly pleasing is the small terrace with an amazing view to the castle towering above the town as well as two tall cypress trees which provide a roost for Lesser Kestrels. Even for the non-bird watcher, the sight of hundreds of the birds circling overhead and eventually coming in to roost before sunset is quite spectacular. The centre of the town is only a short walk away; ideal for dinner at one of the many fine restaurants. The aspect of the hotel facing away from the town ensures relative quietness at night.
