Azul Beach Resort Montenegro by Karisma - All Inclusive

We had an incredible family vacation at Hotel Azul Beach Montenegro in Ulcinj, and I can't say enough about the fantastic kids club entertainment team! They truly made our stay memorable by their dedication and enthusiasm. The team was always positive, greeted us with a smile every day, and most importantly, they were amazing with our kids. Every evening, we enjoyed the mini disco organized by the team, which our children absolutely loved. Throughout the days, there were a variety of indoor and outdoor activities tailored to different ages, ensuring our kids were entertained and engaged while we had some much-needed relaxation time. Thanks to the kids club, my husband and I were able to enjoy a few hours alone knowing that our children were in safe hands and having a blast in the workshops and activities. I highly recommend this hotel to all families looking for a worry-free holiday where both parents and kids can have a great time. We can't wait to visit again!

Will preface this and say the hotel is lovely if you're after a 3ish star getaway, but definitely NOT worth what we paid. When we arrived, they upgraded us to a premium all inclusive stay (we had booked standard AL), which we were delighted with. We started noticing little things we weren't happy with, which have snowballed over the course of our stay. Room - huge! On the ground floor, which at first we were pleased with but actually there was little to no privacy outside the room, with other people walking back ano forth and some even trying to get in. The furniture was very minimal, quite clinical, and with no character. The tv in the living room didn't work at all, and the one in the bedroom would disconnect from the WiFi every few minutes making it unusable. Don't think the cleaners changed the towels the whole time we were there, didn't hoover or mop etc which is fine but not when we're there for 2 weeks. Pool- lovely to look at and for a swim. Not the cleanest, and you can't use the metal steps to get in and out as the screws are so loose it's unsafe. Also, the blue paint around the edges comes off onto skin easily. If you stand/sit at the edge of the pool for more than 30 seconds, you'll have to scrub the paint off in the shower or you'll look like a Smurf for a week. Half of the umbrellas aren't secure either, and with high winds from the beach every day means they were flying around the pool area dangerously. Food & drink - lovely main restaurant, repetitive after a week or so but good quality and quite a range so you can still have something different most nights. Lunch offerings were a bit boring unless you go to the beach bar which was lovely. Amenities - the shop was shockingly small and didn’t sell basics like sun cream, after sun or mosquito repellent. Very limited selection of snacks too, a few chocolate bars and peanut flavoured crisps, and one flavour of Pringles. That’s literally it. They didn’t even sell pool games (balls, etc) until 10 days into our stay. The public toilets are horrific, my partner walked into the one in the pool bar and nearly stepped on poo on the floor!! There were a few power cuts while we were there too, and the WiFi was very in and out. Entertainment - animation team were subpar, only the guy with dreadlocks (not sure of his name sorry!) was amazing, while the rest didn't do much or bring any energy to guests. The evening shows were a waste, so the only entertainment was the live singers at the evergreen bar which were good, but limited seats meant if you weren't there by 8pm there was no chance. Reception - some helpful, some not. Every time I asked a question they directed me to the app, where most info was incorrect the live chat feature was obviously not maintained, as every question I asked was ignored which affected our trip quite a bit. When l'd go back to reception, they'd say the person "in charge of that bit" would get back to me, instead of then answering the question... Spa-don't get

We went at the end of may and it was amazing. The staff were lovely and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was clean and tidy. Food was excellent with a wide range of options along with further vegetarian options upon request. Pools, bars, restaurants always clean and staffed well. We had the most amazing holiday!

Very friendly staff, clean rooms and facilities and tasty foods. I recommend it. Beautiful place we enjoyed our stay here. The check-in and check-out process went smooth and fast, the reception staff was very informative and welcoming. Definitely will consider coming back.

Perfect with small children; really lots of activities. Food was good choice and we were upgraded to premium for free. We would return. We would recommend having more food choices though for people with allergies, as we didn’t see many options for gluten intolerance.

We checked in on the 20th May for a 7 night stay. Check in was quick and easy and upon arrival we were upgraded to the premium section. Our room/suite was clean, spacious, and modern with a contemporary style . The balcony was a large size overlooking the pool area and had a sea view. The hotel sits in large grounds in a beach location . We enjoyed the food and drinks in the premium area . The food was cooked fresh to order and both the Mexican chefs where very professional and supplied us with great food all week for lunch and tea . Unfortunately during our stay only the Eat and Italian restaurants were open ( All the other restaurants open in June ) The buffet restaurant could be a little repetitive and food not particularly warm . During our stay we had a romantic evening dinner at the beach bar which we would highly recommend . The setting, and ambiance was beautiful. Special thanks to Jelika , Fatih , Andrea and Paula a spectacular evening meal . Thanks also to Barbara our concierge and to Fzeka from reception . We hope to return in September 2025

We recently spent 2 nights and 3 days at Azul Ulcinj Resort, and I felt compelled to share our experience in hopes that management might improve their services. Firstly, the drinks were consistently served warm, straight from the packet, including the beers. Whenever we wanted a drink, there was always a wait due to the limited number of staff available. There were 11 of us in total, and we opted for the ultra all-inclusive package. Unfortunately, the service did not meet our expectations, especially considering the premium price we paid. We expected much better from a resort like Azul Ulcinj but were left disappointed. At times, even though drinks were available, they were not offered to us. For the cost, we certainly expected a higher standard of service and amenities. Please carefully when you want to book this resort

Beautiful scenery from the airport, Transfer 1:40 minutes from Tivat Good ———— Premium = newer accommodation lovely room. There is a partition to separate the double bed and twin beds. Comfy beds Walk in wardrobe Lovely bathroom Premium area has its own pool and children’s pool. Premium bar & snack bar open 10- 6pm - food freshly cooked, cakes, ice cream, fruit, lolly’s. Worth the upgrade. Food allergies- Gluten free bread available on request, able to ask for eggs cooked with no cross contamination Wifi throughout the complex Hotel looks beautiful in photos Lots of pools Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas Premium alcohol in all bars Choice of restaurants Cleanliness in the rooms Lovely fruit - Watermelon Recycling bins everywhere (need a normal waste bin next to them to stop mixed rubbish) Bad ———- Check in - disorganised Family resort (not advertised as this) = lots children Buffett restaurant = ‘canteen’ very noisy No adult only pool or dining areas (no child free areas) No seafood, which is shown on promotion videos of the hotel & trip advisor reviews mentioned seafood Only 2 toilet cubicles at the beach bar - no locks on the doors and dirty Loud music played everywhere, by the pool, beach and in the dining room extremely loud (it doesn’t even drown out the noise of screaming, tired children ) Mosquitoes (bring mossie spray) No food labelling for allergies, very little awareness. Gluten-free difficult - bacon with bread underneath, eggs cooked on same hot plate as eggy bread. Towels used to reserve sunbeds all day and not used !! Photos look beautiful but the reality = extremely busy & noisy resort Check dates on trip-advisor reviews - old reviews show as recent Don’t be influenced by the ‘Karisma’ brand - this is not equivalent to other countries
