Let me start by saying that we stayed in their sister property last year and we loved it, therefore we decided to come back again this year with our children. Since we were traveling with a teenager we were unable to stay at kahari (an adult only hotel) and booked what we thought was the next best thing which was the cottages also in stocking island. I should’ve realized Peace and Plenty was sneaky when they first charged us a deposit for the first night months before our stay, and the final balance 2 weeks before our trip even started Al though we had selected the pay at hotel option through the travel website when we booked our reservation. The hotel blamed it on the travel website and even though I had never experienced anything similar, I accepted it and believed them. Once we arrived at the hotel we were given a voucher at check in for free drinks from their pool bar that in 5 days was never open because they couldn’t find an available bartender. Even though we arrived earlier than the check in time they assured us our room would be available in about 30 minutes. After waiting for 3 hours just about an hour before their standard check- in time we were finally able to get our cottage. I was a bit aggravated that they did not have it ready as they said but we understand earlier check- ins aren’t always available and we were grateful for any convenience they offered. It was to our horror when they finally walked us through the cottage that we realized our cottage had no ac in the living room area or the dining room, or kitchen or the bathrooms. Considering it was about 100 degrees in the Bahamas that day, and the cottages are made completely out of wood and have no insulation, it felt like a sauna and it was unbearable to spend any time in that cottage! The 2 bedrooms did have a mini split but considering the conditions it was impossible to leave the door open or to try to cool the rest of the cottage without sacrificing the little ac provided in the bedrooms. We are a family of 5 with 2 college kids and a teenager which is the reason we decided on this cottage. We had plans to use the kitchen for breakfast and quick meals as well as spend much needed bonding time with our children that were home from college. Due to the bed set up we were going to have our teenager sleep in the sofa bed, because of the extreme heat in the cottage all of this became an impossible! We couldn’t have our youngest sleep in that heat, and we could not spend any time in the living room area or have a meal in the dining room or especially turn the stove on and cook a meal in that heat! We complained immediately, which in turn were advised that no cottage had ac in the living room area. Obviously this was not stated in their website or any hotel booking site or we would have never booked this cottage, especially for a July vacation. After standing our ground and explaining how at $400/ night even in the islands some comforts are required and expected we w
