Hotel Tashi Delek

Gangtok is a lovely town to visit and no place is better to stay than Tashi Delek. Our original plan of three nights turned into four nights, thanks to the ambience of the hotel and the friendly staff. The suite on the upper level was superb with a comfortable bed and great room service. Yak Bar, the terrace restaurant, provided a wonderful backdrop to cozy evenings with a warm fireplace and soft blankets. In our travels, we have tried a plethora of cuisines, but none like the ones offered at the Yak Bar. Although ***y of the items were standard fare, there were some exceptionally wonderful dishes including the vegetable thukpa, fried momos, pork in five spice sauce, burnt garlic fried rice, and tandoori prawns. My favorite was the chilli hakka noodle, cooked to perfection with a light charboiled aroma. The icing on the cake--seeing Kanchenjunga from our suite on our last day. Absolutely priceless!

The thoughtfulness and the attitude of the service staff at hotels is what differentiates an average hotel from a great one. Tashi Delek is probably one of the finest examples of providing a service that exceeds expectations. We were pleasantly surprised by the staff that not only brought us hot water bags when we decided to brave the outdoor seating and freezing cold temperatures for gorgeous unobstructed views of Mt. Khangchendzonga but also offered to pack us a breakfast when we had an early flight. The rooms were clean, spacious, stylish and equipped with all the amenities. The food (especially the pork momos) and drinks (a great range of alcohol / cocktails) were on point! The location is simply unbeatable as the entrance is right on bustling MG Marg which is packed with cafes, restaurants, bars and boutiques. The icing on the cake is the people that gather around the fire pit in the evenings. It's truly a great place to meet like-minded travellers and locals and makes for some truly memorable conversations. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we will definitely be back!

The best location with the best view and the best food. Clean rooms and hot water throughout. The team here is incredibly knowledgeable and is great at arranging all the activities in and around the whole of sikkim.

Went to the restaurant, Yak Bar & Restaurant. Good food, good ambience and superb service. It's a must go for anyone who wants to have great food and chll out in a relaxed setting. Had nice hot momos and sizzlers.

We booked the place for one night while driving from Nathang valley and it was a transit point to enter the West Sikkim area. We certainly recommend this hotel for its central location, calm and quiet atmosphere and the view of the rooms from the balcony. The room was large and very well maintained with everything in place. The bathroom is also well maintained and no issues with hot water all the time. The staff are very nice and help you in smooth check-in. The food is limited and ***y stuffs on the menu are not available. With this limited choice, you can still enjoy your food. The dining area is at the ground level and guests have to come down to eat their meals here. The free breakfast is also good as you have some limited but good options. Overall, it is a good experience for our family to spend one night here. We look forward to visit Gangtok and stay in this hotel whenever the chance comes.

Tashi Delek is run by some of the most helpful and lovely crew I've ever met. We stayed for a week and would have loved to stay more. It's centrally located with easy access to MG Marg, the ropeway, and all of the places to explore in and around Gangtok. The yak bar has some really tasty cocktails and mouth watering local and continental food. The rooms are spacious and clean and boast one of the best views of the Kanchenchunga to wake up to. The staff cater to all your needs, with hot water bags at the ready whenever you need it. The music at the bar is retro and nostalgic, adding to the vibe of the mountains. Don't miss out on this place if you ever decide to visit Gangtok!

Confused ***agement and staff. Beware of alcohol they serve in their terrace resto bar set up . We got adulterated duplicate mixed up cocktails . ***agement is extremely rude . It seems favourite place of local goons to get drunk and create chaos. Rate written on menu card has no connection with bill they make up . So can't trust these people. Pathetic experience : (
