MAA Thundi

My stay here was simply amazing. I stayed here for 9 nights and I can now say that hotel Maa Thundi is undoubtedly one of the best places to stay on the island; if not the best. The room was really spacious and comfortable and they will clean it every day. Good shower, big bed and nice balcony with ocean view. The Hotel crew is the most caring and helpful staff you could wish for. They all know you by name and they do their absolute best to make it easy for you. Coco, Priya, Ibaan, Lakshitha, Dilshan, Ali & Rasal all are great people and their hospitality was great. Inside the hotel you’ll also find Shark Expedition. A very professional divecenter with great people and good scuba gear. Please check out my review of the divecenter as well. Clean restaurant with some nice dishes and drinks. Try their smoothies! For me it was also great that they can arrange early breakfast since I went diving every day. The breakfast itself is the only thing I can think of that could maybe use some improvement. It doesn’t have that much variety and personally I missed some fruits here. But apart from that, everything was really, really great and I will definitely come back here. Tip: rent a scooter at the front desk and go do some island exploring. Fuvahmulah is beautiful!

Calm and peaceful location. Friendly and helpful staff, breathtaking view from the rooftop. Clean and spacious rooms. Delicious food from the rooftop restaurant with pool. Unfortunately food order was possible after four o’clock. Closer to the beach area.

Room is in perfect condition and excellent service given by the staff on duty.. room is big enough for family stay…… and with the linking up with shark expedition Fuvahmulah dive centre I think is the one the best place to experience diving with tiger shark.

The room was really spacious and clean. Always greeted by the staff with a smile and impeccable service during my stay. Nice warm water for shower, and a hairdryer (super important for me!) There is also a restaurant at L4 which serves great breakfast and lunch or dinner if you decide to stay in, with a rooftop pool for a relaxing time to laze around. Also, Thoondu beach is just few mins walk away with a sunset that will take your breath away. I also dived with Shark Expedition Fuvahmulah as part of my package. They were led by very experienced divers and boat crew whom were very attentive to our needs. I felt very at ease during dives knowing our safety is their priority. Greatly recommend because I for sure will miss this place and the people.

Strongly recommend considering Fuvahmulah as a dive destination. It indeed worth a lifetime experience. Dancing with tiger sharks is amazing. You get to see them from nowhere with a higher chance than in Fuvahmulah. Shark Expedition team is amazing and dedicated to provide the best service and diving experiences to guests. They tried really hard finding hammers and all other fancy creatures in the deep blue. I got to witness threshers almost everyday and an oceanic manta in Farikede thanks to our dive masters. Hotel room I would say is the best I have ever stayed for diving trip so far. A huge room with balcony and bathtub, restaurant is just upstairs. Not only the facilities, the local culture is fascinating! Local people are incredibly friendly and trying their best to keep this island in the middle of the ocean clean and welcoming. I live in Singapore, and I would say this is one of the cleanest place. I really hope more people could try this island and get a brand new impression about Maldives. Most attracting part is definitely not about resorts in Maldives, but the diving experience and culture. Dive with shark expedition and you cannot go wrong. It is a spot definitely worth a second visit and many more. May we meet again Fuvahmulah!

I'm super happy with my stay in Maa Thundi. The rooms are clean with a nice design, a desk to work on and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is located very close to the beach where you can go swimming, playing in the waves and watch the sunset. The staff at the hotel could not have been nicer and more accommodating, from the front desk to housekeeping an the restaurant I felt very welcome and friendly. Restaurant was also good, I really liked the Maldivian breakfast (Mashuni with roti) and I had it every morning but they have a large variety of food. Don't miss out on trying the local chili paste either, ask the staff its spicy and smokey. Like the rest I was of course there for the diving and that is truly world class with great, professional and knowledgeable dive guides. A warm recommendation for Maa Thundi for your stay in Fuvahmulah they will take great care of you and you will get some good nights sleep so you are ready for the adventures that this beautiful island has to offer.
