MAA Thundi

We spent a week here while diving with Scuba Shark. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and communication was great. We ate at their restaurant (I loved the honey chili potatoes), lounged by (and swam in) the pool and enjoyed the sunset on the roof deck. They let us use their clothes line to dry our bathing suits, and refilled our complementary water jugs whenever we ran out. What more could any diver ask for?

We had a lovely stay at Maa Thundi. Priya and the team really looked after us. From welcoming us with coconuts to helping arrange transport, they were always super helpful. The room was large, clean and really comfy. The restaurant was good and always gave us loads of food for breakfast. It’s worth knowing that the pool was sometimes unavailable due to it being booked by another party, but that was the only slight downside of a great stay.

This is a really nice and very clean hotel right near the beach. The staff are super helpful and friendly especially Priya and Lucky. We were celebrating my son's birthday and they made such a big effort to make it special. My son's bed was so beautifully and artisticly decorated with palm leaves. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Priya was always smiling and full of fun. The manager was always there to talk to us and help us with anything we desired. If anyone is planning to come to this beautiful island I highly recommend this beautiful hotel. Don't even think twice. Thank you Priya and Lucky.

I had a lovely time at Maa Thundi in Nov-24. Salley and his team were so friendly, hospitable, and warm during my time at the hotel (this is a level of hospitality I have not previously experienced in Fuvahmulah). They had a level of authenticity that is difficult to fake. Everyone from the front office staff (Priya and a gentleman whose name I can't recall), to the housekeeping staff who made cute towel animals on my bed every day, to the restaurant staff who make a delicious prawn curry with rice, was a pleasure to deal with. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, very well priced, and very conveniently located at a few minutes from the beach. I happened to be diving with another operation but would be keen to try diving with these guys. Salley (Ibrahim) seems to be a very positive person with productive and focussed goals and I look forward to my next stay with this crew. Thanks for a lovely time, Salley and team.

My stay here was simply amazing. I stayed here for 9 nights and I can now say that hotel Maa Thundi is undoubtedly one of the best places to stay on the island; if not the best. The room was really spacious and comfortable and they will clean it every day. Good shower, big bed and nice balcony with ocean view. The Hotel crew is the most caring and helpful staff you could wish for. They all know you by name and they do their absolute best to make it easy for you. Coco, Priya, Ibaan, Lakshitha, Dilshan, Ali & Rasal all are great people and their hospitality was great. Inside the hotel you’ll also find Shark Expedition. A very professional divecenter with great people and good scuba gear. Please check out my review of the divecenter as well. Clean restaurant with some nice dishes and drinks. Try their smoothies! For me it was also great that they can arrange early breakfast since I went diving every day. The breakfast itself is the only thing I can think of that could maybe use some improvement. It doesn’t have that much variety and personally I missed some fruits here. But apart from that, everything was really, really great and I will definitely come back here. Tip: rent a scooter at the front desk and go do some island exploring. Fuvahmulah is beautiful!

Calm and peaceful location. Friendly and helpful staff, breathtaking view from the rooftop. Clean and spacious rooms. Delicious food from the rooftop restaurant with pool. Unfortunately food order was possible after four o’clock. Closer to the beach area.
