We were very NOT satisfied with this hotel. We rented a car for this trip because one of our travelers has difficulty walking much, we booked this hotel because it says there’s parking. When we arrived on a rainy night, we couldn’t find the parking lot closest to the hotel/connected to the hotel. There was NO sign on the street to indicate the parking location and no information written on the booking page. We drove around a few times and walked a lot in the rain.
It is understandable that the rooms were small like most Japanese hotels, but it was very old and all the floors with rooms had carpet flooring; it was stuffy, dusty, and extremely hot. The hotel’s temperature was central controlled and they made it VERY HOT. We called to ask, they told us to turn off our room’s aircon and open the ever-so slightly window. It was so hot that 4 of us in 2 rooms for 2 days had difficulty falling asleep.
Also, most hotels would have USB ports by now, this one doesn’t and the room doesn’t have many outlets for you to plug in your phone charger. We had to charge our phones in the bathrooms. There’s an outlet near the floor when you walk inside the hotel, but beware of tripping down if you charge your phone there. Furthermore, there’s one last outlet on the table but they guarded it with a metal cover (why?!) so it’s too narrow to plug in the traveler adaptor. It was ridiculous. Lastly, while I showered I looked up the bathroom ceiling, I saw a few dust mites crawling into the gaps of the ceiling…after all it IS an old hotel (although renovated in 2007). Would not stay here ever again, too far, too hot, too dusty and stuffy, too inconvenient. The only benefit was the hotel’s elevator B1 brings you directly to Dipper Dan’s Crepes inside Canal City. We regretted booking two nights here before leaving Japan. PS their tv screen is around the size of your iPad Pro. LOL
If they’ve shown us this map that I’ve taken and attached here, we would’ve found the closest parking spot to connect to the hotel instead of walking so much.
