JW Marriott Hotel Frankfurt

Frankfurt City Centre (Old Town)
I have been staying at this hotel for more than 3 months now and was more than excited after hearing a JW Marriott would open in Frankfurt (also the first one in Germany at that time). After living in hotels in Frankfurt for more than 3 years, I knew that staying at the JW Marriott would be a different story as it provides beautiful skyline views (sunset towards the skyline and sunrise on the other side towards the Taunus) and is as central as it gets. As an ambassador elite I was always upgraded to a suite, mostly the skyline suite because nothings beats this view - see pictures attached. Even though the hotel may need some renovations in some parts, it still provides all the necessities you can think of. The skyline suites include an amazing bathtub, big mirrors, seating area and the unique skyline view which you can be seen from the bed when waking up or going to sleep. The staff is very attentive, extremely friendly and is trying to make the best out of your stay. Thomas from the front desk, Mr Nickol, the girls at breakfast and the two guys there as well are extremely friendly and highly trained professionals. As the hotel does not provide an executive lounge at this point, Elite members get a free breakfast with an la carte dining (recommendation: chef‘s choice) and lots of varieties at the breakfast buffet. For someone like me who wants to stay fit during travels, the JW Marriott Frankfurt has a collaboration with the Fitness First My Zeil meaning you can access a fully equipped gym when staying here and not just a treadmill or 5kg weights - one of the biggest plus of this hotel. Staying at Marriott hotels full time for the last 6 years, I can really see the differences. Unfortunately that hotel life comes to an end now, but the JW Marriott couldn’t have been a better ending to that hotel life. THANK YOU TEAM. This hotel is highly recommended if you want a special treat, the most central location and the full Frankfurt skyline experience.

It was my first stay in the hotel. The check-in was quick and friendly. I had booked the room in the morning in a short term. It was essential to make a Skylineview room. A few great photos /Videos. My room wish was very well met. At the end of the 38th floor walking. I was enthusiastic (see photos). I would have been upgraded as Marriott Bonvoy Gold Member. But I would have been to the other side. Since I wanted to photograph the Skyline I rejected. Deep garage (Q-Park WestendGate) was super. Also expensive with € 39 but a lot of space and not so narrow. But doesn't belong to Marriott. The chairs are driving super fast. I was still at the hotel restaurant/bar ”Champion's” evening. I had a Burger. He was OK; I had eaten significantly better. The service was a disaster. You had to wait long until drinks/eating were at the table. It also took pay. I had then photographed the sunrise in the morning. I was really good. I liked breakfast from the selection. I was there early in the morning at 7:00. The complete restaurant was unfortunately remarkable. I later got with that was a travel group there. Through this middle ” island” it was then extremely full in the gangs around. But it's not always like that. I would certainly come back.

This hotel is the red headed step child to the Sheraton next door. There is no lounge at this hotel (The one in the Sheraton is closed too). You get breakfast, which is quite good, instead...but of course it's at the Sheraton. Also, the Sheraton lounge, which you're supposed to have access to is closed with some strange green lock box on it. The room was nice, and spotless. Finding it was very easy by car using Google Maps, but the crowd of people smoking around the parking garage entrance smelled terrible and wafted a bit into the hotel. After I dropped off my car at the rental desk (In Terminal 2), figuring out that I had to go to Terminal 1 kind of like going to the banhoff there was confusing at best. Everything closes here at 10:30, even room service, so don't expect food if you get in late beyond some cold things in the display case. The room itself was great. I was upgraded to a suite with two bathrooms, and a living room. The master bathroom vent did not work, so you you did anything smelly in that bathroom, you would have to live with it for some time. Fortunately, I soon realized that the vent in the ”guest bathroom” worked, so handled those things there. The biggest issue was the electrical. There are master switches that turn everything off. Some are on the bed, some are by the doors, if you turn that off, then you can't turn on any bathroom light without going back to the bed, turning on all the switches on the side of the bed until you get the master one...then blinding yourself because you've turned on every light in the room accidentally. Super confusing. The plus side is there is a nice not blinding light near the bed you can use...if you can figure out what to turn on/off to get it on by itself. The refrigerator is one of those stupid vending fridges like they have in Vegas etc...but they aren't using it (yet?) so there is no room in there for your stuff. 2 German beers and a water bottle, and you're done. The internet was a just okay 30Mbps. It was surprisingly quiet in spite of being between a train station and an airport. Also, to the author of ”“Hard to find and no privacy in bathroom”, an earlier review, complaining about the X and Y on the wall as towel hangers...perhaps you didn't notice the other letters everywhere else too. This hotel is located about 20 miles away from Maintz, where Gutenberg invented the printing press. Your subtle slap in the face really was just your lack of education and American privilege showing.
