Kudos to everyone on the food & drink service side - Chris, Asta & Nick at The Cove, room service was great, and of course Nelson’s help with everything else.
Housekeeping could use a bit better training. Our room was not serviced between Monday and Friday. The two staff we asked about it Friday morning very kindly assured they would discuss with housekeeping; however, our room had still not been cleaned when we returned from our day trip Friday afternoon. When we called the front desk they asked if our do not disturb card had been on the outside of our door. No. We travel quite a bit and are quite aware of how the do not disturb card works. We’re relatively certain that had we not found Nelson our room might not have been cleaned again for at least another day.
The other issue was the consistent noise. Whether guests thumping music until 1:30 a.m., the very loud elevator “ding”, or housekeepers chatting and laughing in the hallway outside our door very early in the mornings, sleeping was frequently interrupted throughout each night. Honestly had we driven to this destination rather than flown, we would have left early so as to be better rested before returning to work tomorrow.
We appreciate all that has been accomplished to reopen after Hurricane Ian. Service staff were very kind and professional. Housekeeping and attention to details to provide a relaxing vacation venue have some work left to go.
