Hotel Berna

This is excellent if you are looking very clean room with nice size and also super clean private bathroom — easy distance from the train station especially affordable for one nite only. Staff is extremely pleasant, welcoming and helpful. and NADIA saved us but helping us with luggage and ensuring it was in the lobby area so we could catch our train on time! We are super grateful. It was not loud for us, id concerned - nothing noise canceling and earplugs couldn’t smother. We didn’t have breakfast but kitchen area cute and clean. $8Euro is great. It’s just a super easy location near markets on this side of florence. I took the stairs for me was easy, there is a one person elevator 🛗 for those inclined. Thank YOU

We only stayed 2 days in Florence so a central location was critical. This was a great location especially for a last minute booking! Other than some traffic restrictions that we didn’t understand there were no issues. The hotel called the local authorities and had the fines removed, and even sent us documents for proof, beyond excellent service! We even received a friendly “bravo” for sleeping late and enjoying actually being on vacation!

Great location very close to smn station. If you're on a hit and run mission to florence, this hotel is hard to beat. Has a lift.

Stayed in Florence for 3 days and the Hotel was within short walking distance to the Duomo, train station, and many tasty restaurants. The room itself was good for the amount of days staying there, we really enjoyed having the option of logging into Netflix because we like to sleep with the TV on. Nadia was very helpful, friendly, and pleasant to be around. It was convenient having breakfast right in the hotel for €8 and it wasn’t bad, it was the right amount of food. Overall, my husband and I enjoyed our stay.

My daughter and I stayed at Hotel Berna as a recommendation from the Espresso Academy that we attended. We had to take the Tram T1 to and from the Academy (exit Federiga). It was so convenient to use the tram for our purposes. If you go the opposite direction of the Santa Maria Novella Train station, you will find the heart of Florence. All of the key locations to visit are no more than a 20 minute walk from the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom/shower was efficient. I can't say enough good things about Nadia and staff. Nadia prepares the continental breakfast in the morning and she speaks several different languages so she is a big help on giving advice on the city. The 8 euro breakfast was a great deal. Getting there initially can be a bit confusing. Recognize that this is a bed and breakfast on ONE floor of the building. There are approximately 5 floors and each floor is a different B&B. You're looking for a glass door that looks like it's leading into an apar**ent building. The area where it is located is a bit frenetic at times because of the main train station. Again, turn away from the train station and start walking toward the Duomo. The location was perfect for our purposes. Thanks again to Nadia for the hospitality.

What a delightful staff and very comfortable place to stay! The air conditioning was especially nice in the heat. And what a wonderful breakfast--so many choices! I wish we could have stayed longer. Very convenient to the train. I highly recommend.

Very convenient location for us near the station and within easy walk to local restaurants and wonderful Florence sights. Comfortable rooms, lovely breakfast, great to have a kettle and tea making facility in the room and very helpful staff. Just what we needed for our short stay.

I am sorry to say I would not recommend this hotel. In our two week stay in various parts of Italy it was the only hotel that we felt instantly unwelcome in. It was a very awkward and uncomfortable stay. It was a bit noisy with road traffic and the location at first glance was in a "grittier" side of town, maybe a little too close to the train station. Was a short walk however to a the better areas. On the plus side, the accommodations were sufficient, the bathroom had good natural lighting. Overall a bad experience in a beautiful city. I wish we would have chose a different hotel, it was truly the only negative part of our wonderful trip.
