Villas Caroline

Das Villas Caroline ist ein Hotel zum Wohlfühlen! Mein Freund und ich verbrachten hier 2 Wochen. Es ist sehr zentral gelegen, in der Umgebung gibt es viele Restaurants (Mauritianische Küche, Italiener, Inder,…). Wir hatten lediglich das Frühstück gebucht, welches sehr umfangreich war (Crêpes, Brot, Früchte, Müsli, Omelette,…). Am besten hat uns der phänomenale Ausblick unseres Zimmers gefallen (Zimmer 345). Alle Zimmer haben Meerblick und eine Terrasse oder Balkon. Probleme mit dem Zimmer wurden direkt behoben. Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen! Folgende Punkte waren zusätzlich positiv: - sehr freundliches Personal - Riff zum Schnorcheln direkt im Meer des Hotelstrands - Liegen am Strand und Pool - Pool - abwechslungsreiche Animation, sowie Billardtisch - Möglichkeit verschiedene Touren im Hotel zu buchen - Möglichkeit Auto zu mieten (33€ pro Tag) - Klimaanlage - Tauchschule neben Hotel Negative Punkte: - Hotel ist sehr auf französische Gäste ausgelegt - Badezimmer etwas älter, teilweise Schimmel

We have just returned from our honeymoon. Upon arrival we were not welcomed or treated very well. We noticed French speaking guests were treated much nicer and better than English on reception. We had to wait for our room as check in was 2pm and our flight arrived in the morning so we had 4 hours to hang about which was fine. We asked for a glass of water whilst we waited and after coming off a 12 hour plane journey and into 30 degrees heat I don’t think it was much to ask for.. this was refused until we persisted in asking again and they reluctantly went to get 2 luke warm cups of water… first impressions are important! Especially when you pay high price for all inclusive / honeymoon holiday. Other guests who arrived shortly after us and had to wait were offered drinks from bar and smiles. The same male member of staff was on check out duty was impolite again to us, no basic manners at all and not even a good bye or asking how are stay was when leaving. Positives… Snorkelling was incredible just outside your room easy access and we spent alot of the time doing this. Sun loungers on beach easy to access anytime we wanted. Room was nice with a fantastic view of the sea / beach… the room needs some tlc decorating / broken toilet door etc… minor things but easily noticeable. The bed was very comfy and cleaning service was very good. Food was good some days better then others but plenty to cater for Drinks were easily available and good selection Spa service was very good however you must book 4+ days in advance Evening entertainment was good different acts every evening and was nice and relaxing Overall it was a really nice relaxing stay minus the reception staff and some tlc on rooms. I would go back if the reception staff learn some customer service skills

We were not guest at the hotel but where on the beach outside - I went to the hotel bar and invited my partner who turned 60 this day and I ask if I can order a bottle of champagne. This was at noon - not full at all - we had decent clothes on. They were a bit reluctant to serve us the champagne and then they told us we could not sit in the chosen chairs as they were too close to the swimming pool as we were not guest at the hotel and then they told us we were not allowed to swim- we were actually only interested to buy a bottle and celebrate so we went to a different place instead where we were welcome

The location was spot on , roll out your room onto the beach, the current was strong in the sea so be careful, you will need sea shoes as there was lots of dead coral, sadly, plenty of sun beds. Free paddle board's, snorkeling kit and kayaking. There is a small spa room, tends to nails and massage. Towels for the beach provided. We had a standard room, a little on the small side but we only slept, showered and got changed in there. Kettle, small fridge. It is not a mini bar as often stated. Plenty of toiletries replaced when used. Bathroom was good and a great shower, rooms have bee. Upgraded so again do not take the brochure pics for the real decor. Food was a good choice, different variety every evening, no chips insight which was great, they will provide for children if asked. Puddings were the best. Now entertainment..... caters mainly for the French, u have to ask for other types of music if you want however always goes back to the French. Most staff can speak English, they were very friendly and always willing to help. The taxi driver took us sightseeing for 4 hours at the cost of €40 absolutely brilliant. Didn't want to come home , will definitely go back

Stayed at Villas C to celebrate a special birthday. Our first time to Mauritius and we have had a great time. We had a superior room which still needed a little TLC in places but nothing major. Large room/ bathroom with very big comfortable bed and hot shower. Balcony a stones throw from the sea. Plenty of storage, a kettle and good size balcony. Mainly French guests but this was fine and staff all spoke English and were welcoming and friendly. We could not fault the food provided on our half board basis. Not a vast choice like some hotels but good quality and desserts were hard to resist!! Entertainment was good and although swayed towards French taste, we enjoyed most of it. Free snorkeling equipment, kayaks and paddle boards which was fun. Turn left on the beach, walk 5 minutes and you'll find several mobile eating vans. We used them most days for good value lunches with no problems!! Can't really understand some of the negative reviews, can only report we loved our ten days at Villas C.

Don’t come here if you’re expecting peace and quiet. They’ve let the youngsters loose with the sound systems. Even as I write this at 10.50 in the morning the bass is booming the music is blasting, not at all enjoyable unless you’re about 7 years old. Every evening so far we’ve left the bar area as conversation is impossible, not that we could escape the noise in our room, and even in the early hours the sound of rubbish bins being wheeled about together with the cries of two resident roosters did nothing to soothe the nerves. Yes the beach is magnificent and to some extent compensates but the standard room is fairly basic, clean but adequately equipped even though in our case the electrics were almost as baffling as the need for ear deafening music. All in all not worth the long (12 hours in the air) journey to get here.
