District Apartments Fitzroy

Not recommended for those who value their personal data security and privacy. Not recommended for internati9nal travellers who may not have enough charge on their phones to complete 3 forms, then download and set up an app that requires constant internet and Bluetooth connections. Booking required multiple insecure methods of sharing credit card details and identification documents along with 2 forms to fill out with personal details and an app to download in order to gain access to the Building entrance, Elevator, and Apar**ent. None of this information was given to me prior to booking. I would not have stayed here if I had known the extent of insecure transmission of personal information and amount of admin and work required just to check in and stay one night. I work in this space and know the risks. Management is putting guests personal data at risks with the excessive documentation requests. FYI, requiring someone to send credit card PICTURES and ID pictures over email is completely insecure. This is bizarrely at odds with the excessive security to get into the building. The constant need to carry your phone everywhere or you'd be locked of the apar**ent or even the whole building was extremely stressful. In terms of the actual room, once I got in, the bed, kitchen, lounge and floors were clean but the toilet had not been cleaned in a long time. This was not nice. You could see parts under the rim had not been cleaned in years. Toilet had also been recently used and not flushed properly upon arrival. I did not take photos of any of this, it was too gross. I ended up buying paper cups as the glasses/cups as those supplied were not clean, tried to take a picture but it's hard to see. They were covered in fingerprints and fibres of some kind. The view was nice and loungeroom was great, study nook was extremely handy for remote work. Balcony tiles are moving and could be a tripping hazard. Laundry was well equipped but did not have time to use it.

This is my second stay with District Fitzroy. Easy to book online and easy to use your phone as a key ....This is a great place to stay with easy trams to the city. Nice to be able to cook too which reduces the cost. I just love these apar**ents as they are quiet and comfortable. Will choose them again and again.

Lovely apar**ent in good location ,close to an abundance of food shops and supermarkets also close to tram lines for easy access to the city , clean and well stocked with all we needed and although no reception on site the service via phone was fantastic. Would stay again for sure.

Really clean, neat apar**ents. Great for short or long stays. Good beds, modern bathroom, great showers.

District is in the centre of the Fitroy universe. Comfortable and spacious one bedroom apar**ent.

I unfortunately parked our car in the car stacker in the underneath car park in accordance with their instructions. After collecting the car I found the front of it damaged apparently by the car stacking mechanism. I contacted the hotel to report it and informed the general manager would contact me. I also asked for the number plate (torn off the front bumper to be returned. I have not heard from the general manager and my three email have not been answered. On a later phone call I was told that I would have to pay for a call out if I wanted to get our munger plate back. Their communication is appalling. Could not possibly recommend this hotel.

great stay however communication between the employees and the cleaners must be better, elevator wasn’t working and was told a cleaner would be coming down waited 20 minutes still no one so i rang again to be told she is only just replying and coming now than another 10 minutes i rang again and was told they would send someone down now??? pretty poor but overall the stay was lovely

Walking distance to everywhere even the Melbourne CBD We will be back

Accommodation was fantastic however the parking was AWFUL!!!
