In March, we arrived to the hotel past 10 pm as our flight was delayed and checked in normally, and got handed a key card for the room. We go up to the room and as I open the door, I see 2 people in the bed. We go back down and I let the receptionist know that there are people staying in the room. She then explained that there were no rooms available in the hotel and that we would have to stay at a different property. She then walked us across the city to some apartments that they owned, and explained that they are only in use during the summer and that they are ‘better’. When we walked in, the whole room, bed, pillows and floor were covered in dust, it hadn’t been cleaned for months so you could clearly see that they were just rented out for the summer. The toilet paper had faeces on the side of it. There was black long hair everywhere. My partner and I then decided to walk back to the hotel and speak to the receptionist and show her the photos of the room and how disgusting it was. I asked for a full refund as there wasn’t a room available for us, and we were not about to walk back to the dirty apartment at midnight straight after a flight. She then handed me the phone to speak to the owner, who yelled at me calling me a liar, that the room was clean after seeing the pictures that the receptionist sent to her, and that she will not be giving me a refund. We ended up contacting *********** and they said that they cannot do anything about it as the hotel has to agree to a refund in order to get our money back. So we stayed at a different hotel and after almost 4 months of going back and forth with *********** and the hotel not replying to them, I got my money back through my bank.
