We ended up being the only guests for our entire stay and it was a great experience! We came in November to do an arctic circle tour and, obviously and as expected, there is not much to do in Fairbanks in November. The House had great history and being able to explore it (with the staff's permission) made this historian's stay extremely memorable. Breakfast was prepared for us every morning and it was far and above the best meals we had the entire trip. We loved every single part of this experience.

Delicious breakfasts prepared by Margo, Lisa, and Scott greeted me in the mornings after a restful night in this beautiful restored historic mansion. Owners Lisa and Scott are terrific and fascinating hosts. Highly recommended.

This review is 5 stars only because we had Margo. Margo is an employee, she doesn’t own this B&B and she may or may not be there when you book it, so I would say this is a review qualifier. Margo was amazing, cooked the best breakfasts, provided all the information we needed, offered to drive us around, she does above and beyond her job at this hotel. She even went to the store to buy us specific dishes for breakfast. Never had that before in any B&B. This is a historic house, almost like a museum, where every room is decorated with antiques and where you can learn a lot about the history of Fairbanks and Alaska just from going from room to room. It is really fascinating. The decor is not modern, the bathrooms are old, but that’s the whole point. There is no TV anywhere in the house, but then again, there wasn’t a TV back in 1916 when this house was built. I would also say that the heating system is amazing. The kitchen is part of the public space here, which is unusual for a B&B, and that’s because no one lives here. It’s fully stocked with snacks and drinks and everything you need. We got special treats for our stay in our room as well, which had a fully functioning kitchen for our own private stay. The piano hasn’t been tuned since the Raegen administration, but did I say the house is full of antiques? Location is perfect, 2 minutes walking distance from downtown Fairbanks. Parking is not an issue unless the place is packed in the summer, but we’re there in September. The

We got special treats for our stay in our room as well, which had a fully functioning kitchen for our own private stay. The piano hasn’t been tuned since the Raegan administration, but did I say the house is full of antiques? Location is perfect, 2 minutes walking distance from downtown Fairbanks. Parking is not an issue unless the place is packed in the summer, but we’re there in September. The main issue of concern for you if you plan to book this house is who owns it and who works there. You should check out if it’s the same as it was back in the summer of 2023. If it is - it’s a great deal. However, there is a major shortage of skilled labor in Fairbanks and so for example the rooms are not cleaned everyday, and if it gets any worse - not sure you’ll get freshly cooked breakfast either. (Margo is a friend of the owner, and not sure she’ll keep doing this next summer). To summarize, this is a little overpriced, but it’s worth the money if the level of service is what it should be. We loved spending time in this house, we loved checking all the rooms (most were vacant since this was September) and we loved the food Margo cooked for us. We would stay there again if she was there when we came.

Amazing stay…the history, the proximity to town (walkable), the comfort, the hospitality…all top notch! Jill and Margo made us amazing breakfasts every day and made our stay perfect! We had the Williams and Maid’s rooms and were a bit worried about being cold (it was -27 outside!) or loud (right next to dining room, but neither was the case. We shared a bathroom between our rooms (separate door for each side) which had lovely fluffy towels and other amenities. The house is a literal museum of Fairbanks…so many original furniture and other pieces in the house as well as books and scrapbooks about the house and its owners. Jill fixed us salmon and eggs, French toast with fresh blueberry compote, bacon, sausage, quiche, etc for breakfast and baked fresh cookies and muffins too! Margo made amazing veggies and eggs both mornings she was there as well as a banana nut bread. There were snacks and drinks and other food available throughout the house too. We walked easily downtown to several restaurants, sights & stores and our hostesses gave us many excellent recommendations. The house was spotless clean and so convenient as our “home base”. We even ordered Door Dash from a local restaurant one night and ate in the dining room. Best stay ever. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else in Fairbanks! Maybe one day we can return when we can see grass and flowers!! :-)

Margo is the best; she is so sweet and helpful! Just in a sec, you can talk with her like an old friend! We enjoyed the stay at Garden room, personally I like this a half-attached room which we can enter from side door and also we can walk to the dinning area through basement…we had a taste of ancient culture here..room is clean; and breakfast is simple while you can have many combination choices..unlike morder hotels; we can have access to the food and soft drinks anytime at kitchen..plus, you can meet and chat to other travelers and share your trip experience

Loved this B&B. Property was beautiful and we loved the historic nature. Bed was super comfy and breakfast was excellent. Only issue is be forewarned, the clawfoot tub, while really cool, was very difficult to shower in. But we managed and I would highly recommend this property!
