Mama Lova Essaouira

Amazing place to stay!!!! hidden away from the hussle & bussle. everyone was super friendly! delicious breakfast with a variety of compotes and pastries as well as eggs & juice which we had on the amazing rooftop- see photo. Room was lovely with 2 very comfy double beds in, although we stayed on the first floor there was no proper window & of course no air-con as its a Riad style so can get a little stuffy. Would advise the hotel to have plug-in room fans on-site for peak heat weather! Couldn't imagine staying in that room in July when its super hot as I need a cold room. Didn't ruin the stay at all though.

Great hotel. Lovely deco and very thoughtful staff. Also delish breakfast with a variety of compotes and pastries as well as eggs. Dinner was a treat and they brought it up to the roof. A huge variety of mezze. It was very quiet though in heart of the medina.

We recently stayed as a family of 5 (3 older children). Mama Lova is truly a beautiful place to stay and the attention to detail in the interior design was amazing. All of the staff are kind and helpful beyond compare. Nothing is too much trouble and Karima helped us so much with booking trips and taxis. The property is beautiful clean which is an absolute credit to the house keeper. Breakfast is plentiful and whilst not necessarily to my taste it really could not be faulted (I’m coeliac so have a very restricted diet). The room is well equipped the toiletries are lovely and my daughter enjoyed the powerful shower after a day at the windy and obviously sandy beach. We initially had planned to stay at a large chain type hotel because of the access to a pool, however we are so glad we decided against this. We did buy a day pass to a hotel with a pool and didn’t even get in it! We are glad we stayed at Mama Lova as I don’t think we would have appreciated Essaouira in the same way. Thank you to the owner for creating a little bit of luxury within the medina and for all his wonderful staff who have made his vision come to life.

Mama Lova is located just off one of the main avenues of Essaouaria, and thus very easy and convenient for wandering around this quiet seaside town. We arrived after a 2-3 hour drive from Marrakesh, and were immediately served a truly delicious lunch in the small courtyard. The manager, Karima, was gracious, helpful, and spoke excellent English; the other staff were also friendly and efficient. I shared a suite on the second floor with my traveling companion. It consisted of one large bedroom with a window looking out over the town and one into the central courtyard; one smaller bedroom looking into the courtyard; and a large, well laid-out bathroom. The shower provided good hot water and strong water pressure. The decor throughout the riad is attractive and simple; my bed was extremely comfortable. There were other guests, including one couple with a baby, but it was always quiet. Breakfast was served in the courtyard, and was copious and excellent: fresh fruit and juice, breads, jams, olives, eggs. The roof deck was pleasant, and afforded a terrific view out over the town. The only caution is that the stairs to all the rooms are steep - this was our experience in all the riads we stayed in.

Lovely, Clean, Comfortable, centrally located. Beautiful roof top views. Delicious cafe with full breakfast AND cappuccinos. Friendly, helpful staff. Caring Concierge offered recommendations and made reservations for us. Great water pressure in the shower!!!

Hotel bellissimo nella Medina di Essaouira, ci siamo finalmente sentiti coccolati dopo un lungo viaggio in Marocco. Si respira una certa ricercatezza in ogni dettaglio, nulla è lasciato al caso nell’arredamento di Mama Lova. Karima guida in modo meticoloso la struttura e lo staff. La colazione è gustosa e ricca, lo chef è veramente competente, ma anche gli altri ragazzi in reception e la signora che si occupa della colazione e delle camere. La terrazza è uno spot meraviglioso per rigenerarsi con un drink e uno snack. I letti sono così comodi che sembra di dormire su una nuvola! Unica pecca è che la spa non è assolutamente all’altezza dell’hotel, in quanto è situata a 10 min a piedi e non si presenta per nulla pulita e accogliente. (Non è proprietà dell’hotel, ma secondo me dovrebbero trovarne una migliore con cui collaborare). Per il resto tutto magnifico!

Tres belle experience dans ce très beau Riad d’Essaouira. L’emplacement est central, l’équipe est bienveillante et chaleureuse et la nourriture délicieuse. Mention spéciale pour le rooftop pour finir votre journée avec un cocktail ou en mangeant. Merci Karima :). A très vite.

Endroit de rêve au cœur de la Médina tout est parfait: le lieu, la décoration,les chambres, le roof top,,la cuisine magnifiquement bonne …le service personnalisé . Petit paradis à découvrir dépaysement assuré 👍🤩

Nous avons passé un séjour incroyable au riad Mama Lova à Essaouira ! Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par le personnel amical et attentionné. Le riad lui-même est un véritable bijou caché au cœur de la médina, offrant une oasis de calme et de sérénité loin de l'agitation de la ville. La décoration est à couper le souffle, avec des mosaïques colorées, des arcs en plâtre et des meubles exquis. Notre chambre était spacieuse, propre et confortable, offrant tout le confort dont nous avions besoin pour un séjour reposant. Chaque matin, nous étions réveillés par l'odeur envoûtante du petit-déjeuner marocain préparé avec soin par le personnel. C'était un véritable délice de déguster des crêpes, des pains frais, des confitures maison et du thé à la menthe sur la terrasse ensoleillée, avec une vue imprenable sur la mer et les toits de la médina. Le personnel était toujours disponible et prêt à nous aider avec des recommandations pour les attractions locales, les restaurants et les boutiques à ne pas manquer. Leur hospitalité authentique a rendu notre séjour encore plus spécial. L'emplacement du riad était parfait, à quelques pas seulement des principaux sites touristiques tels que le port, la plage et les souks. C'était un vrai plaisir de se perdre dans les ruelles étroites de la médina et de découvrir les charmes cachés d'Essaouira. Je recommande vivement le riad Mama Lova à tous les voyageurs à la recherche d'une expérience authentique et inoubliable à Essaouira. Nous avons été enchantés par notre séjour et nous reviendrons certainement dans cet endroit enchanteur !
