Damia Hotel Apts

After reading some of the reviews about this hotel I was sceptical that it would not be the right place for me and my family. However, I feel I need to write that there is no need to worry when staying at Damia's. We arrived late in the night and were told to just head straight to our room and check in from 9am the next morning, this was fantastic for us as we were travelling with a 4 year old who was very tired. Yes the studio apartments aren't massive but they are clean and respectable. We had everything we needed and Dimitri behind the bar gave us milk and sugar so that we could make a drink in our room the next morning. The pool is fantastic and there is plenty of room for everyone to get a sunbed. There is about a 15 to 20 minute walk to get into town but the walk is pleasant in the sunshine, I would definitely recommend a taxi on a night as the road back to the hotel can be a little perilous in the dark. Yes there are bugs!!!!! But come on it's Greece there's bugs everywhere, just take a plug in bug repellent for your room and the bugs will leave you be, or if you're like my daughter leave the door open and let them come in because its more fun watching mum and dad try to get them back out. Finally a word about the staff. They were amazing. Damia is the most beautiful soul I have ever met, she is kind, caring and so welcoming. She made us feel at home and made my little girl feel like a princess. Her sons were fantastic too, Dimitri has stories that will make you laugh for hours and they honestly could not do more for you. You only have to ask. We will definitely return.

Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough!! Staff were amazing too!! Clean room and has cooking facilities. Shoutout to Dimitri for looking after us the whole stay and for giving us our lighter🤣! Lovely views, and great for a low budget holiday with a great atmosphere only 3 min taxi into town or a 20+ min walk and walk is so lovely!! Would defo visit again

From the moment we entered we were made to feel like family .. pool is lovely and secluded. Damia and her sons welcome you and nothing is to much trouble . Rooms are basic but clean and everything there you need . All rooms from what I can see are pool facing . It’s a 15 minute walk into sidari town or a pleasant 15 to 20 minute walk into canal Da mor .. lovely walks , lovely people , lovely hotel .. I am looking to return .

Me and my 3 friends came to Sidari for our first girls trip, we wanted an affordable, pretty and somewhere walkable distance to the beach and the *****. This is exactly what we got! We were not expecting much as the trip was cheap but Damia Hotel exceeded all of our expectations. The family that own the place were lovely and looked after us as we are four young girls on our own. The hotel accommodated mainly families so it was nice and quiet, but, walking distance to the busy *****. The pool, restaurant, bar and room was a lot bigger and nicer than we expected! I would recommend this place to everyone! An amazing experience.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Damia and her staff are so friendly. Situated in a beautiful part of the island. Close to Sidari and the famous 7th Heaven bar. Very private pool and a great way to relax and forget about your worries. Rooms are great as is the food.

Having visited this hotel a few years ago I was shocked at how it has become so dirty. The pool is the only good point I feel giving praise to. Our room was filthy and smelt of damp but knowing how abrasive the owner can be when criticised, decided to clean it ourselves where we could. The toilet bowl was brown the shower room itself had no shelves and very dated fittings, a shower curtain that was black with mould. Facilities for self catering were poor. No toaster only a sandwich maker,a kettle that was full of limescale,d no microwave a fridge that was filthy with peeling fablon and an ice box that was full of ice. Barely any cooking utensils not even a frying pan. An old TV that clearly didn't work and served no purpose.The bar and restaurant hours were a lottery, some evenings it was open other evenings closed or shut early and no service for the guests that had stayed in. The hotel owner has 3 dogs freely using the grounds around the pool to do their business and had to be told that their mess needed picking up. The room was constantly invaded with woodlice and other creepy crawlies throughout our stay. It was pointed out to us that there were brooms attached outside some rooms to facilitate the sweeping away of the insects, something I had never encountered in all my visits to Corfu before. hotel is fairly isolated being a good 20 minute walk to any bars or restaurants. A small supermarket is only a 5 minute walk away which was handy. If I could give it 0 stars I would but because of the pool and it being clean and plenty of sunbeds I give it 1. Won't be recommending and certainly won't be returning.

Where do I begin. It stank as we went in. Lots of dead and alive bugs every where. After trying to get them out with one of their towels, it was pointed out there was a broom along the corridor, especially to sweep the bugs out of the room. Bugs in the shower tray, by the main door, all in the room and outside in the terrace area. We put a towel along the door at night to stop the crawlies coming in. This was self catering and there were 2 saucepans, one stained plastic bread board, I colander. Sandwich toaster and kettle. No toaster and no microwave. Fridge was mouldy and icebox full of ice, couldn't put a bag of peas in there even if we wanted to! 2 cups which were dirty. Taps dirty and rusty. Every time the toilet flushed there was a loud noise, which was the air stuck in pipes. Most mornings the water in the shower was cold. No shelves in the shower room to put anything on. One small metal shelf to put shower gels in, which was in the shower area. There were a few complimentary gels. A tv that comes from the 70's which didn't work. Not that I would have stayed in that room all day. Thank god we hired a car. Curtains were torn and stained. The patio doors were filthy. The beds and pillows were very hard. I only knew if the room had been cleaned because the 'cleaner' put two towels, which were like sandpaper on the end of the bed. No bleach had been used no nice smelly room spray. Outside by the balcony/terrace area there was a lawn which went all along the rooms, the grass hadn't been mowed, the owners 3 dogs would go to the toilet there and a few times we had to ask them to clean up. The positives, swimming pool looked nice, bit cold but ok. Enough wardrobe space. That's it. This is the worst place I have ever stayed in. Yes it's cheap, but clean room, clean shower and enough kitchen utensils should be a given, decent mattress and pillow. No spare pillows. If I had complained the owner would have had to replace and refurbish everything and it would have taken more than a week and we were out everyday into early evening which we coped with. Very old and outdated. I didn't go into the bar area as I didn't want to be 'mouthed' again by her alsatian puppy dog which left quite a big bruise and a graze, but to be fair, I did fuss it and a man did ask if I was ok. Just a warning if you don't like dogs, No idea why people say it's nice. I'm going to contact my travel agent to ask them why do they think it's OK to send people to a place that is obviously just fit for bugs, they love it there!

We arrived at Damia Hotel on 14th September for a 2 week stay and were given the key to our apartment and we had to carry our cases up flights of stairs to the room as no lifts. When we opened the door we were extremely shocked at the state of the room in regard to lack of cleanliness. The kitchen was dirty, food stuck on the appliances and crockery. The fridge was badly mildewed, not cleaned (extremely old) and iced up. There was dust and dirt everywhere. The bottom of the shower curtain was black with mildew and the soakaway was all furred up and dirty. The toilet seat was stained badly and the seat itself was cracked. There were light bulbs not working throughout, the lights in the lounge were filled with insects and flies. I could go on. We went to see the owner who was in denial and not interested. She said we should have booked a 5 star, not a 2 star and we explained that the stars were nothing to do with the cleanliness of the rooms, we expected basic. However, the owner would not even come and look at the room herself, just sent the cleaner up 3 times who replaced the shower curtain and attempted to clean the room and bathroom as best she could. We bought some cleaning materials ourselves as well. After 6 days the toilet seat was replaced. However, at the end of our holiday we realised how badly stained the mattresses were as there is no mattress protectors on them and they are extremely old. The children's playground was non-existent apart from 2 swings on the lawn. The only plus was the swimming pool which was cleaned every day. The owner was not at all friendly to us following our civilised complaints. We did not shout or get angry but this made no difference to her attitude to us. We felt uncomfortable and not welcome during our time there. Also there is at least a 25 minute walk into Sidari and the beach, which is walking on roads without pavements for a good portion of it. Our advise to anyone reading this is do not book this hotel, you will regret it.

Where do I even start! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, Damia made us feel like a part of her family. Demetre was also amazing!! He’s the best bar man in Corfu! He always had lots of laughs with us and also made us feel super welcome and like part of the family. My sister and I stayed here for 7 nights and we’ve never felt so safe. The pool is amazing! There was always plenty of sun loungers to choose from. The breakfast was absolutely spot on! I had a full English most mornings. The rooms are basic, but for us they’re just a place to sleep as we eat out every night so were all we really needed. If self catering is your thing, give Damia a go! A short walk to the main ***** in Sidari, an even shorter walk to the beautiful Bikolis restaurant and there’s a supermarket literally 1 minute down the road that has all the essentials including a cash machine. I have to say, I especially loved the dogs in the hotel. I have 2 dogs at home and it was like being home from home for me. If I ever return to Corfu/Sidari I will definitely stay at Damia again.
