Eriyadu Island Resort

The staffs all friendly, amazing location, delicious foods feel like heaven.

General - It is a small and beautiful island, not far from Male(aprox 1h by speedboat), very relaxing, good services, helpful and friendly staff. What we liked: Snorkeling around the island is absolutely beautiful. There are significant variety of corals and fish, turtles and sharks, and other marine life – for us this was the main reason for choosing this resort and we were not disappointed Vegetation of the island is good developed and offer shadow from the sun almost everywhere Food was good and tasty, also we liked deserts (they served different flavored pana cota that we enjoy at lunch and dinner) Even the island is small they manage to arrange a small gym for the clients There is a diving school that offer a large service variety, including some interesting trips: in the season you can see manta-ray, which can be a really special experience. Check-in was very fast, 15-20 min we received the room. What we didn’t like: Boat transfer – it was a really disappointing and bad experience, especially on return to Male. Also, from my point of view, it is a very expensive service for a group transfer considering the average salary in the country (at this price it should at least be a private transfer). Overall we recomand the island especially for the persons that love snorkeling and marine life.

Travelled end of April beginning of May, thought we weren’t going to make it as our flights through Dubai were cancelled two days before departure,rebooked through Doha, Island is small but perfect for our needs,basic but functional rooms,plenty of greenery to give shade when needed,we like full sun and after a week changed from room 236 to 260, too hot from 1-3pm but siesta time, then back out till sunset and later dinner, Food in restaurant was good,puddings were delicious,special thanks to waiters Ryan,Opu and Annais who looked after us very well. Drinks in the bar are adequate on included AI, On snorkelling found the reef to be bleached but plenty of fish with occasional turtles ,black tips and eagle ray,and easy going all the way round the island. Had a couple of issues with the rooms which were sorted quickly thanks to Moomin, Anna and I think from his spelling Movind, All the staff are welcoming and help if and when required. This island is Basic ,there’s not that many left now. For what you pay ,we couldn’t fault it

A magical experience Thanks to the General Manager, Mr Salih and his staff (especially Raj - catering manager; Ahmed - head of room services) for organising a banquet for us right on the beach on our final evening. Shout out to the team - Derek & Edna - Chris & Leoni - Phil & Sarah - Jide & Elsie An unforgettable week of blue sea, white sand, fantastic meals and to crown it off a banquet on the last night. Wonderful!!

We were absolutely delighted with the resort & in particular the staff who are extremely polite, attentive, friendly & cannot do enough for you. The snorkelling off the beaches is amazing with so many different & plentiful species. We saw turtles & a pod of dolphins as well as the fish, sharks & corals. We couldn’t understand some of the other reviews criticising the food on offer. We found it both extremely tasty & plenty of variety. We want to give particular praise & thanks to our waiter Ryan who was brilliant & also the gentleman on the omelette / cook to order station. We are already planning our return trip & cannot wait to go back. We also met some lovely fellow travellers during our stay.

If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a very chilled relaxing break, then this is definitely the place for you. From arrival to departure, all of the staff go out of your way to make your holiday special. Food in the restaurant is excellent. Snorkelling on the house reef is fantastic, along with the organised trips through the excellent dive centre. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This place…. Lived up to all of our expectations, having read a good few reviews, which give you a very balanced account of what you are paying for. It’s not 5* luxury but we didn’t pay for that (there are plenty of these type of resorts around if that’s what you are after). It is a bit rustic around the edges but feels so authentic, it’s a paradise island you can lose yourself for a week or two. A wonderful house reef and abundance of sea life. The amazing staff run a well organised resort, it’s clean, tidy and very comfortable without being pretentious. Everyone has a happy approach to all of their tasks. Whatever their role, they work hard and are positively attentive. When we had issues with a cancelled Emerates flight and became stranded at Malè Airport at the end of our holiday, we contacted the resort as we needed somewhere to stay and the airline would not assist at all, despite being full and very busy, they were able to organise everything including our same room for the extra two nights. They could not have done anymore to help us. Special mention to Eriyadu’s wonderful meet and greet lady on D3 boat transfer desk at the airport and Govinda and Moonin at the resort for co ordinating all of this for us and really helping us out at such a chaotic and difficult time for us. Eriyadu is very much deserving of their 2023 Trip Adviser award, they really are true stars!! We would totally recommend this island for an authentic Maldivian stay and super staff that help make a holiday great!

We have just spent a truly wonderful 10 days at Eriyadu 🏝️🏝️🏝️ All the staff are fantastic - whether it be the reception, the bar, the restaurant, the room service or the grounds keepers …. they are all super efficient, super friendly and super polite. The house reef surrounds the island and whether novice snorklers like us or experienced divers there was something for everyone - with its own dive school with specialist diving excursions. We saw so many wonderful fish … and turtles too !! 🐢🐢 The island is only a 45 minute boat trip from Male airport and Eriyadu has its own speedboats to shuttle guests to and from the airport. This is perhaps an older resort and some reviews may say the rooms are a little tired - the rooms are perhaps a little dated - but the bed is big and very comfortable, air conditioning is great, there is plenty of storage, bathroom is big we had double sinks bath/shower plus a separate shower open to the skies above, a great terrace, walk out terrace to soft sand and the beach, and even a separate outside door direct to the bathroom with outside tap to rinse the sand off your feet before going in. This place is barefoot living and takes relaxed to a whole new level - for sure it doesn’t have the rooms on stilts or plunge pools and slides to the sea - but what it does have in genuine character makes up for that and is an absolute gem.
