We flew from London to Mali, Maldives, via Qatar. From Mali, we got a speedboat to Eriyadu Island Resort. This was not our usual type of holiday, but we were looking to switch off for a week and unwind. It was amazing - sunshine, sea, warmth, good food, activities, attentive staff and seclusion. Perfect. There are about 50 cabins on the island. So, you’ll not be swamped with crowds. The mix of people we had with us were Brits, Dutch, Germans, and Russians. It was lovely. The island is small, you can literally walk around the island in less than 15 minutes. However, there is plenty to do, or nothing to do … your choice. The island is all inclusive, so there is nothing extra to pay for. There are cocktails and mocktails all day if you want them. The food offering at breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good. No complaints at all. It was nice to try a variety of foods from all over the world. The fish was lovely, the meats were delicious. It wasn’t 5 star dining, but it was a very good selection, perfectly cooked. The beach areas are divine. Snorkelling, body boarding and kayaking (canoeing), the gym are all included free too. You’ll need to get a snorkelling mask from the dive centre, but it is free. You could book some dive lessons or dive time, but these do cost extra. We also had a lovely sunset cruise to try and find some dolphins … sadly, no luck that day, but it was a lovely long boat ride out past other islands. We also had a nice hour long massage at the spa … very welcoming. We booked thru Blue Bay Travel. The price for our 8 day holiday was very good. You could notch things up to a 5 star hotel and food, but you’ll be paying £500 more for a week. This was just perfect. We really enjoyed ourselves. Plenty of rest and beach time, as well as some water activities. A perfect taster holiday to experience the Maldives.

This was our first trip to the Maldives Island and we were looking forward to every moment of it. We booked the trip through Blue Bay Travel, like many others, they were great from start to finish. The Island is small but this suited us perfectly. Makes it a lot more intimate and able to see more. The food was very good, enjoyed every meal. One of our waiters (Nimish) what a guy, made the best Sri Lankan tea, every day without fail. The accommodation was comfortable, loved the double wash basins and showers. The cleaning staff were also amazing If you are lucky to get Sagor, you'll be amazed at his skills. Note the plug sockets are UK three pin sockets, but lacking any USB charge ports in the room, so make to to bring charge plugs. Very much looking forward to returning in a couple years.

We are just about to leave this amazing island and I can honestly say, I don’t want to go home. The island is small and just perfect. Yes as some of the reviews say, the rooms are dated, however this was not a problem for us as we didn’t spend that much time in there other than to shower and sleep. With that said, it is worth noting that after speaking to management the island is going to have a complete refit, with the addition of over water bungalows, 3 new restaurants and a cocktail bar. They are hoping to have this completed in the next 2 years. We had room 316 which was a beach villa. The location was perfect for us as the beach was calm and beautiful. We found the other side of the island had more of a breeze to it. The food and drinks were excellent. There was plenty of variety. The resort also put on an excellent Halloween night for all the guests. The staff are what makes this island, they cannot do enough for you and they all work so hard to make your stay enjoyable. Special mention to all of the restaurant staff and also the bar staff Deluar, Imam, Abdullah, Rahul and Hirusha. They all work tirelessly and are an asset to this island resort. We were fortunate enough to enjoy a late check out as we have a late night flight, so we could make as much of the day left as possible. Another example of the outstanding customer service here by reception staff. If you are planning on coming here, make sure you bring lots of mosquito spray. Although they fog the island twice a week I was still bitten every day. I have never had this before! Also make sure you bring plenty of sun tan lotion as if you run out, it will cost you a lot of money to buy a bottle at the shop here. This is our first time to the Maldives and we will be back to this resort. It simply is paradise on earth

24th October 2024. Just returned from 2 weeks at Eriyadu where we had a fantastic break, and as many reviews have already mentioned the rooms are a little tired, the restaurant is OK although the food could be warmer and can be a bit repetitive, the entertainment is fairly basic, often it’s the staff singing, hosting the quiz, or conducting the karaoke. The Euro Dive Centre is a must, I did a couple of their trips with Esta who has a marvellous knowledge of marine life due her being a Marine Biologist, and the house reef which is absolutely stunning. A special mention for a couple of the staff who we encountered, Abil who cleaned our room, lovely guy with a great attitude, in the restaurant Nuzufy, Opo, Uimesh, and Ijlal, all looked after us amazingly. Now the reason why we didn’t give a 5* rating, there is some building work in a couple of locations taking place on the island, all day the noise was very loud as they seemed to be using a concrete breaker to remove the existing floor, this came a head when after returning to our room at about 8:45 pm to find the work in the beach front villa next to ours was still going on. I called reception to enquire as when the noise was going to stop, unfortunately the noise in our room was so loud reception rang off as they couldn’t hear me speaking over the noise. One more attempt to speak to reception failed, thus resulted in me having to go to reception. I asked what time this noise was going on till, they were unsure, I asked to speak to the manager, he wasn’t available, I waited a few minutes and reception informed me the manager had been contacted and was looking into it. As I was returning to the room I came across 2 members of staff a short distance from our room, one was discussing something on his phone, as I approached he wander off towards the building work, I did ask if they were managers, which they were, the other one explained that they were speaking to the overall resort manager and the work would be stopped, it did at about 9:40 pm. The following morning the Resort Manager did come to speak to us and was very sincere in his apology and offered for us to change rooms, which declined as the room we had without doubt had possibly the best views around the island. He also said that the working that late had not been authorised, and assured us that all building work would now only take place during “the agreed times of 08:00 ~ 18:00”, this was a bit of a suprise to find out the was an agreement in place for the work to be taking place at all. We contacted Blue Bay Travel who we had booked with asking why we weren’t made aware before we booked of the agreement that work would be taking place during our stay, after a couple of further emails to & from Blue Bay they informed us they were unaware of the work taking place, but would get back to us as & when with an update, that was 7 days ago, still no update. As promised the work was finished most days by 18:00 or shortly afterwards, although it

What an amazing island!! Loved the house reef and snorkeling. We went for our anniversary and they gave us one of the best villas, room 214 with our little beach. The staff are really friendly. We had Abir looking after our room. He cleaned it twice a day and was very friendly and helpful. Always with the smile and nothing was too much trouble. The guys at the bar and restaurant were all also very friendly and happy to help and give you little pointers - Raju, Nufail (the karaoke king), Abdulla (master mixologist), Ijulal, Delua (fastest barman in the west), Imam, Amitha and Anis. Really sorry if we forgot anyone. Before we went I was really worried about the weather as the forecast looked really bad, but it only rained few times for about 5 minutes in the 12 days we were there. The food was lovely and plentiful, lots of curry and also some potato dishes. The roast beef and roast potatoes were the best I've ever had. And they do a great "English" breakfast. Always enough to choose from. The turtle bar is now included in the lowest all-inclusive and you have to look at the perks for over 7 day stay. Free 1hr kayak laundry and much more. We loved it so much, we are already planning to go back.

Eriyadu was amazing, we had read many reviews and the most appealing to us was the fact that it was not a highly developed resort and was left in its natural beauty. The room we had was one of the best views and location with beautiful sea view (room 305) Our cleaner Abier was great and always on hand to get us anything we needed so chatty and helpful and made us feel so welcome. The food was good and plenty of choice always fresh fish or noodles being cooked in the evening and fresh omelettes in the morning, all the staff were helpful and always spoke to us. We did kayaking and dolphin trip which was great. We didn’t have the best of weather due to it being the end of the rainy season however it was still a wonderful holiday and would go back tomorrow. I never fancied a built up island and anyone wanting natural beauty should consider this a top island to visit. We were AI and didn’t spend anything else whilst on the island. There is only 1 shop on the island which sold souvenirs so if you wanted any goodies whilst you were away you need to take them with you also would advise taking first aid kit in case of any coral cuts or anything as there is nowhere to buy these things on site. We always went to the end of the jetty every evening where you see thousands of fish, there is themed evening in the bar every evening and would recommend this place to anyone, I did hear that Eriyadu is going to shut soon and water villas added to the island which will take away its rustic original feel which would be a great shame.

•We have just returned from Eriyadu with friends. This being our second visit to this non frills but beautiful island. •The resort is making improvements from our first visit last year which is great for those who wish to return to sample the islands hospitality and beauty. •The marine life is plentiful, you will not be disappointed. •We chose to do the night diving and the fishing trips this year, both fun to do, worth to get these booked at the beginning of the holiday as these can be weather dependant, so dates can change as and when. •Spa is a simple spa but the treatments are some of the best we have tried. Gym has been updated from the year before. Well equipped and air conditioned. •We have never been disappointed with the food. There is enough choice and the curries and Dahl will leave you wanting more. •A special mention for our room attendant Abir. We had room 258. He was really friendly and any requests were attended to quickly, thanks Abir. A not so special mention to the Russians descending on the island. Find some manners when you visit this island, be courteous and polite to the workers and you'll get more back in return. A smile goes a long way. •You can walk around the island in 7 minutes. One side of the island is calm waters, the other side can be quite choppy. Feels like you are on 2 different islands. •Nightlife is low key. Great if you want to just relax after your meal. It works well on this little island. It just adds to the relaxed atmosphere. •This is a little gem. If you are wanting beach huts on stilts, room butlers and multiple restaurants this is NOT for you. Eriyadu does everything we want it to do. A relaxing, beautiful part of the Maldives.
