Albeit location relatively far from city centre, quiet location with supermarket nearby

The room, location etc were acceptable. However the early check-in that was advertised in an email was a joke. After an early start I arrived at 11 am ready to pay £10 for an early check-in. I had a busy working day ahead of me before a business engagement in the evening and had planned my day around early access to my room where I could work in peace. Instead I was told my room wasn’t ready, so I had to work from a noisy break space outside the conference suite. I had to cancel teams calls because i wasn’t in a private environment so this had a negative impact on my working day. I came back to the reception hourly to ask if I if my room was ready and was repeatedly told not yet. The guy at the reception was friendly but did nothing proactive to help me get into my room. That was disappointing. Finally at 2:30 pm I was told my room was ready and I paid £10 to get extra 30 minutes in my room because at that point I was exhausted and felt grubby and really needed some privacy. Very disappointed at the complete lack of customer service initiative. £160 per night in a hotel half an hour away from the city centre is not what I would call affordable so I would’ve expected a little better from Premier Inn on this occasion.

This place used to be good but it’s going downhill rapidly. The location is handy for transport links to the city and airport. They charge premium rates for ‘upgraded’ rooms that are supposed to come with Free Ultimate Wi-Fi, yet there’s never any WiFi connection at all. Not just frustrating but downright unlawful to charge extra for something that doesn’t exist. The main issue though is their disdain and disregard for disabled guests. I’m not disabled but my colleague is. They offer no assistance whatsoever, no matter how much someone is struggling, yet they’ve a big sign up in the lobby saying how inclusive and kind they are. They really aren’t. They also ignore selfish people with no Disabled Badges parking in the accessible bays. I note other reviewers have mentioned this too. I’ll be raising a formal complaint with Whitbread’s CEO if this horrible attitude towards disabled guests continues. It’s just not on.

Arrived with my young family of 5 just after 4.30pm and was asked if we would like a table for a meal in the restaurant. If so, to let them know before 5pm so we could get a table. We informed them at 4.50pm we would like a table however was informed we could not be given a table until 8.30pm due to a large party of kids staying at the hotel. To expect a 8, 5 and 1 year old to wait 3.5/4 hours to order and then eat a meal is ridiculous therefore we had to drive elsewhere to be accommodated straight away with no issues

Great location with good access to city either tram or train. Bottle neck at 3pm checkin due to increase charge for early arrival. Room very warm and air con noisey. Breakfast used to be great value but with increased pricing other establishments are offering similar for less. Shower water power poor and dispenser broken.

Although this hotel is located close to the airport it has excellent transport links to the city centre. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the city centre by tram and 5 min by train. Excellent way for pub hopping and site seing along the Princess Street.

This hotel is extremely well presented, the rooms were very comfortable and the communication for travelling is spot on. It is next to the tram stop which takes you to the city centre and directly to the airport. There is a retail park situated across the road/ rail track (accessible by an overhead footbridge) Tesco,Aldi,Poundstretcher,TK Maxx B&Q to name a few
