Travelodge Edinburgh Central Waterloo Place

My wife and I recently stayed at the Edinburgh Travel Lodge. It's a Travel Lodge, so there's not a lot to expect, but the room was clean and recently remodeled so it was nice. My review is really a 5 star review because of the staff. My wife and I talked with Paulo, a front desk attendant about places to eat and things to do in Edinburgh, as we had very little time available. Through his advice we had a great experience. Great food and drinks close to the hotel, as well as the bus tour around Edinburgh, and to top it off a recommendation to see Colton Hill and the monuments on it. Whole stay was ruined and felt unclean after sleeping in hotel. After having a fairly good nights sleep (though very noisey floor boards) ruined by finding a spoon covered in food in a cup, when trying to make my morning coffee. Then when having a shower to hopefully freshen up, the shower gel dispenser was broken and the cover didn’t stay on, underneath it was covered in dirt and grime and was disgusting, it had obviously been like this for some time! Ruined the whole experince.

I booked a family room, and when l arrived, they said "Sorry, we are fully booked", and sent me to the basement.

Stayed recently on a very hot weekend in a family room with a 10yo and 13yo. Windows were open and curtains drawn on arrival which helped a lot with he temperature. Room was enormous with a good view. You can open the secondary glazing and windows which was great, it IS extremely noisy all night long if you do, but you are on a major central junction. There was no fan but to be honest the room was so spacious and open windows it wasn't too bad. Couple of relatively minor cleanliness things - remote control was really grubby with bits of tissue stuck to it and back of the bathroom door was not clean with some marks on the bathroom wall, but generally everything seemed quite clean. Felt safe enough in the hotel and it was quiet indoors. It is expensive for a TL but the location is good. In terms of accessibility there are 2 small lifts and the option of stairs. The decor has obviously been recently updated in line with rebranding and that has helped the sense of cleanliness.

Only a few minutes walk from Waverley railway station. Central for visiting all the popular sights such as Castle, Holyrood, etc.

I stay at this Travelodge every time I go to Edinburgh as the rooms are always clean and the team are friendly especially Ana and Paulo they alway make you feel welcome

Location is good. Close to Edinburgh bus station. A lot of pub and restaurant around. But the room is very small that no space to open the suitcase. The window has mold and dusty. Obviously, the carpet didn't vacuum for long time that quite a lot of dirt on it. The cleanness of the room was not acceptable.

Loved my stay at Travelodge Edi Central, location is perfect, within 5/10 minute walk of the main streets and Waverley Station just across the road. I stayed one night whilst travelling through to friends in Dundee and lovely Mr T on reception went above and beyond to ensure everything I needed was possible (storing of luggage etc). Thankyou all!
