Travelodge Edinburgh Central Waterloo Place

My wife and I recently stayed at the Edinburgh Travel Lodge. It's a Travel Lodge, so there's not a lot to expect, but the room was clean and recently remodeled so it was nice. My review is really a 5 star review because of the staff. My wife and I talked with Paulo, a front desk attendant about places to eat and things to do in Edinburgh, as we had very little time available. Through his advice we had a great experience. Great food and drinks close to the hotel, as well as the bus tour around Edinburgh, and to top it off a recommendation to see Colton Hill and the monuments on it. Loved my stay at Travelodge Edi Central, location is perfect, within 5/10 minute walk of the main streets and Waverley Station just across the road. I stayed one night whilst travelling through to friends in Dundee and lovely Mr T on reception went above and beyond to ensure everything I needed was possible (storing of luggage etc). Thankyou all!

Nice hotel close to the station and city centre. Staff were excellent, on our last morning we had a problem with the hot water which could not be resolved we were offered an alternative room to shower in Prompt excellent service

If you like noise this is for you. Location is very central but if you have a room which overlooks the Main Street unless you are a heavy sleeper you will be awake from very early. The room next door you could hear every movement of the floorboards no idea why they were walking about so much at 5.40am on a Sunday morning but if that doesn’t get you the traffic will. It does mean though of course that it’s handy for the bus stop. It wasn’t cheap either we booked late.

Whenever we visit Edinburgh we always stay here. The location is excellent, handy for pubs, restaurants, trams/buses and the railway station. The Travelodge is currently being refurbished and the reception was being painted whilst we were there. We were given a really nice room on the 3rd floor. The room had been repainted and the carpet and curtains had been replaced. The room was quiet and comfortable. The reception area was a bit of a mess and a strong smell of paint. I felt extremely sorry for the staff ! We will definitely return and hopefully the refurb will be finished by then

Looking at the reviews I think this hotel gets a bad reputation but they are trying to make things better. I stayed one night and was put in one of the refurbished rooms which was very clean and modern. There was some noice from contractors drilling and radio that they had on while painting, but to be expected really while a renovation is under way. Would stay again!

Over a number of years I have stayed at five different Travelodge Hotels in the Edinburgh & Haymarket area. Waterloo Place is by far the best and is conveniently located near to Waverley Station. Clean room, comfortable bed and friendly staff.

Room was great - recently refurbed. Nice and clean and the staff were very friendly & helpful. Little bit of morning noise but its a city centre location so to be expected. Really great location!

The hotel was in the middle of a refit & our newly refurbed room was lovely and clean, very comfortable, nice and quiet too even though it's right in the city centre at the end of Princes Street. Such a great location, easy walking distance to both Old and New Town, Princes Street shops, Omni, Waverley Station etc. and well connected for trams/buses to get out and about. Cafes/bars nearby for breakfast/dinner etc. (great if you don't fancy the famous Travelodge breakfast bag option!) The staff were really friendly and very welcoming, price was pretty reasonable too for a stay in Central Edinburgh. Would choose again.
