The team at the Citrus Hotel Eastbourne are the reason that I will continue to reside at this hotel, as they are just fantabulous; always friendly, professional and efficient, striving to go that extra mile to assist guests to ensure that they have a truly comfortable and restful stay. Located on Eastbourne promenade and the beach, initial impressions of the hotel are not great as the entrance door and hallway not in the best of condition. After your wonderful welcome in a somewhat sparse cold reception space, you will scale the stairs or take the old rickety lift to your room which are spotlessly clean and well appointed space including a comfortable mattress on a bed with crisp clean white linen which all aid a good nights sleep. The Wi-Fi is reliable and the rooms that I have stayed in had a very good large smart television. Some of the disappointments include rooms which have no hanging space or coat hooks nor a wardrobe, missing mirrors in the bathrooms and in some cases rooms with no doors between bedroom and bathrooms. The hotel does serve a basic continental breakfast (I was informed this was about to be upgraded) yet does not serve any other food and does not have a bar (drinks and limited snacks are available from the fridge in reception) Location is okay, the town centre, train station and bus connections are walkable (in around ten to fifteen minutes), with the beach on the doorstep, the theatre district at the end of the road as is the Eastbourne Tennis Centre. Finally, the hotel offers fantastic value for money especially in the off-season.
