"Ample parking. Initial impressions were good but the welcome was certainly not warm. We had booked their supposedly deluxe room and on first impressions, it looked lovely but on closer inspection, there were quite a number of issues. The king size bed was 2 singles put together, fair enough but there was a big dip in the middle of the bed. No instructions on how to use the shower and after trying to work it out, I had burned my ankle with the steam and hurt my eyes trying to use the shampoo etc., which was difficult to get the pump working. After I had used the shower, it just would not go on for my partner to use. The bath was absolutely lovely but on enjoying that you look up and see the dirty light and a fan full of cobwebs and dust!! Towels are changed next day but cafetiere was overlooked and we had to ask for a fresh one. It's a pre-order breakfast but it's 1 of everything and only sourdough bread. I was hungry the second morning however it was a great sausage. Owner spoke on the last day but had strongly critiqued another table who had questioned their order. She was very unapproachable and not around when guests were leaving but to cap it all...just leaving and pulled bed blanket down to find on my side of the bed a painted toe nail. Photos to follow."

"Popped in for a late lunch, and were greeted warmly by staff. Having perused the menu we opted for the lunch and a drink special and ordered the ploughman’s. when it was served to us it looked lovely but was somewhat odd. Instead of a chunk of bread and ploughman’s/branston pickle, it came with 2 slices of warm garlic bread and a pot of apple sauce with some chilli flakes sprinkled across the top. Tasteless ! Was crying out for some good old pickle /some tasty relish and crusty bread and butter. Definitely felt that they didn’t have all the ingredients for a traditional ploughman’s and compromised - disappointed"
