OYO the Townhouse

Very nicely decorated room with theme. Very impressive room inferior design and very cost. Aircon is provided and the room is very nice. Definitely come again. Close to town center and restaurants. Good price and good stay.

We have just had a few days mini moon, gifted to us after our wedding, at The Townhouse. Not knowing what to expect, we ended up having the perfect few days here. Paid parking over the road cost us £31 for 3 days. Pay for the hours between 8&6. We arrived a little earlier than check-in time and got a drink at the bar. The hotel is very impressive to the eye, colourful and cosy. The staff are super friendly. Wendy looked after us for most of the stay, and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in Eden Lodge. It was small but perfectly done. The bathroom had a gorgeous big deep bath and a very powerful shower. The bed is extremely comfortable. There are plenty of pillows. Mini fridge stocked with pay as u go drinks and free bottled waters. A coffee machine. There was also a hairdryer, robes, and slippers provided, although the robes only fit up to about a size 16 comfortably, so it was not ideal if you're a bigger person but plenty of towels. Then, outside, you have a small secluded garden area surrounded by greenery and a very nice hottub for two. Considering how close to the town centre it is and the road out the front of the hotel there was no noise at all apart from birds in the trees. Very nice. We were warned the chef had gone sick, so it was a continental breakfast only, but as we didn't know what we were in for anyway, it didn't bother us, and there was still plenty of choice. Pastrys, meats. Cheese, cereal, fresh juices and fruit, toast and tea/coffee. We had some extras in the room arranged for us as newleyweds, and it was done out lovely with balloons, banners, and an ice bucket filled with cava and peroni Everything you could need was within a 15-minute stroll. We only really left the room to eat and had some lovely meals about 5 minutes walk away. Turkish meze and grill was our fave. Overall, it was an ideal mini moon. Shout out to housekeeping too because not only was she lovely, but the room was spotless. She even managed to pop in and work around all our balloons and cards, which we had on every surface in the room and we asked her if she made the bed not to make it military style and she left it just as we asked. We stayed at the townhouse last night in the penthouse suite… we could not fault our stay, we were gutted we only booked one night. We booked on the blue light discount they had to offer. The staff are so accommodating, from organise the stay through messenger and organising treats for my partner birthday, they were really helpful. The two girls that greeted us on desk (one was trainee) could not fault them as well as the housekeeper we met on us departing, Very chatty and bubbly I’d book a stay again to see them. I love the decor of the place, loved how quirky it is. The penthouse suite was amazing, and the small touches topped it off. The best night sleep we had in a while waking up feeling refreshed. We are currently looking at staying again come summer as the place is self is lovely will definitely be telling everyone to go there well worth every penny. Incredible little hidden gem in Durham. Very close to the centre shops bars and restaurants. It was a treat for my husbands birthday and the hotel staff made us feel so welcome. Wendy on reception was so kind and helpful. We stayed in the penthouse suite and the room was very nice and luxurious. I had the room decorated with balloons etc prior to arrival and we honestly loved our stay! We want to return and will be saving to visit as soon as we can. Breakfast was delicious and delivered to our room to enjoy breakfast in bed! We heard the garden room is well sought after so hopefully get to visit this soon! Don’t hesitate and book that break

Stayed over night with my boyfriend in the Eden Lodge and it was absolutely lush. Perfect for a night away and you don’t even feel like you’re in Durham when you’re sitting in the hot tub. The staff are so welcoming especially Wendy, she was so friendly and made our stay so much better. Nothing was too much hassle. Would definitely recommend and 100% will be back

Had such an amazing stay. This was a suprize from my boyfriend and it was the best suprize stay ever. All staff where lovely. The room was amazing. We stayed in the hideaway, which was outstanding. Thank you so much for making our week. Shoutout to wendy who was lovely and so attentive.

It was so easy to find, the staff were beyond helpful and it’s fair to say my expectations were blown out of the water, we’ve seen photos before and decided to stay here, and wow what a weekend, it was so romantic, nothing was too much hassle. It’s only a five minute walk to the city centre, but the food and drinks in the townhouse make you not want to leave, all round a perfect experience couldn’t recommend here enough, would definitely give it a go!

Perfect stress free stay, Wendy was very helpful and welcoming. We stayed in the hideaway, the room was so beautiful I have had lots of comments asking where we stayed. Located right in the centre of Durham, very short walk to cathedral, canal, shops etc Will defiantly be booking again soon and staying longer Thank you for a lovely stay

This was a suprise birthday stay from my husband and we had the best time from the moment we came to the moment we left. The staff are funny, warm and welcoming. We stayed in the hideaway room. The interior and attention to detail is fabulous 👌 there was a huge circular bath tub with bubbles provided and a very big walk in shower. The water theme did not stop there, we were also surprised by the unexpected water feature later in the evening! We soon dried off with the big fluffy towels and bath robes provided. We both had a comfortable sleep and enjoyed a delicious well cooked breakfast the next morning. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would recommend to anyone.
