This is a budget hotel by the pricing, but feels to me like a mid-grade hotel. It was nicely appointed and rooms had everything you could want in terms of usual amenities. The building and the rooms look new or nearly new. It has a Spanish decor. That's the "old-world charm" I see mentioned in some reviews. Everything recently built or remodeled so all is fresh and new in the bathrooms especially. The owner is a fan of racing so there's also some race car decor. Free on-site parking. Free Internet. It was a little strange to check myself in with the door codes, but I got used to it. I thought the breakfast was nicely laid out and looked attractive, and tasted very good. Lots of choices of hot and cold foods. Tables were set up like a home would be for a holiday meal, so very festive in appearance. The cook and owner were very friendly and very attentive to the food display and restocking. I stayed upstairs. on the parking lot side, in two different rooms over 3 nights. Many rooms have light blocking shades, and one of my rooms had that, but when I switched rooms, that 2nd room did not yet, so the morning sun in May made the room quite warm. It's Germany--few places have air conditioning, so not unexpected, just a bit warm till the sun moved around the building. Some people complain of noise, but I slept fine, and am rarely bothered by noise, There was a geothermal work crew staying there that left for work in the morning, and then all was very quiet after that. I stayed here solo while visiting family. I came in by train, and had initially chosen a motel by the train station, but my cousin told me not to stay there. He chose this hotel for me and I liked the fact it was in a residential area so it's quieter than a busy city center. There's a grocery store and pharmacy just steps away for the things you forgot, or to grab some snacks or wine/beer.
