Absolutely beyond my expectations! The staff were so nice! We had come from a desert camping trip and they let us check in at 8am without any question, which we were so grateful for. The shower was good and the bed was soft and comfortable. This is a huge change from our previous hotel in the moon crescent area (also ”5” star). Breakfast was plentiful and had options for all. They delivered yoghurt to the rooms in the afternoon. The location is great. It took 10 minutes to walk to the night market and mall. Overall, I would book this hotel over and over again! Fabulous! Thanks for a great stay!

Staff were courteous, and the fruit bowl was replenished daily. The room was vast, and could strike some as under-furnished, but it had all I needed and the bed was very comfortable. There are numerous restaurants in the surroundings, but my visit coincided withe Chinese New Year, and a good 95% of the city was shut during my stay. The nearby 'river' is a pleasant place to stroll, though perhaps not in the depths of winter. The Night Market (again, not functioning in January) is close by.

This hotel is the best choice when you arrive in Dunhuang, beautiful view on the sand dunes and nice atmosphere, easy access to any sights. Check in was easy and fast, we arrived very early and could check in without extra charge. The breakfast is delicious and has lots of choices . The service is good, the junior stuff are very helpful and nice, however the senior manager didn’t give us the right information and the other one was arrogant and not helpful. Hopefully, this will be improved. We also had a private excursion with the driver Mike, was a nice trip, safe and interesting.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, it is great value for money and the room is comfortable. My only negative comment would be that as a non-smoker, the room was a bit smelly, but I left the window open for a day and it aired out nicely. Every single person working at the hotel were extremely kind and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable and convenient. They even helped me to post some souvenirs back to my house that I couldn’t fit in my suitcase. I was travelling alone and it can be a bit intimidating to travel away from major cities with my less than conversational level of Chinese, but I was made to feel so welcome and I am very grateful for the amazing hospitality. The location is fantastic, walking distance to a lot of nice places to eat and the night market. There was a cheap and decent gym within 8 minutes walking of the hotel and nowhere was too far to go by taxi. For foreigners, I recommend taking the taxi to Doujiaduncun villagers committee to take your PCR test. It’s about 5 minutes by taxi and they can help deal with PCR tests for foreigners who don’t have access to the QR code. You must go back the next day to pick up the results. The people at the testing site are also very helpful. I loved my visit to Dunhuang so much, the landscape is incredible and the people here are so nice. I will definitely come back again!

This is the best hotel we stayed in this trip. The service is top notch, the front desk opened door for us, took over our luggage, greeted us with big smile and hot tea. She even took our luggage to our room and showed us around. The breakfast is free and very tasty, bottled water is unlimited, which is very helpful. This hotel also host foreign passport holders. We stayed in the suite for families. While there was lots of room, the room with the double bed had no window. This was not nice. We live in China and like the Chinese firm beds, but these were beyond firm and not comfortable. The pool was why we wanted to stay here, but we were not informed that it cost 25 yuan per person to use, including kids, until after our swim. Disappointing! However, the staff are very friendly. It was strange to us that they constantly entered our room when we were not there to leave services like a foot bath or a humidifier, which were not requested. The whole place has a run down feel that is kind of creepy and at this price, other hotels in the area are nicer.

If required, you can also ask them for a car pick from Dunhuang railway station. Overall, convenient spot and helpful. There are plenty of food options outside the hotel, so not a problem.

However, the whole staff is really hard. The whole team includes food, driver, and host in all aspects. The cost feels quite high. But I think the basic hygiene and comfort are still not done well. The tent is the cheapest and simplest kind. The sleeping bag should never be washed or even opened when it is aired. It’s not too cold to sleep at night, but the roar of desert motorcycles will continue until two or three o'clock, and will not stop until all those who watch the starry sky come back. We didn't go to see the stars in the depths of the desert with the driver. We got up at two or three in the morning and looked around the camp for a while. The effect was okay, but it was definitely not as good as taking a car to go to the deep desert with less light. In general, this camp is suitable for young people in their 20s who like to be lively and exciting. It is not recommended for families who like to be quiet and with children. It is too noisy and the key sanitary conditions are really average.

Location is great as it is right in the city centre, a stone’s throw away from the night market and loads of shops and restaurants around. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was upgraded to have a window, staff would help me get a taxi and tell the driver where I wanted to go ie to Mogao caves and bus station. Another staff would help me get my laundry done by a third party and placed them in my room when it was delivered. Room had basic necessities ie hot water, working aircon, clean toilet though carpet needs a it of care. Overall very satisfied for the price paid.
