Discovering our "roots" in the "Mother Country" and spending time with Margo and her family set us up for more than we could have ever imagined! The B&B location was beautiful with sheep and cattle grazing in the lush green fields, and the peacefulness of the countryside set a comforting and relaxing state of which to relax in! The accommodations were impeccably clean, the breakfast was fit for a king, and the time for "Irish tea" most delightful! I enjoyed "tea time" so much that I have made it a point to keep the tradition going once back in the U.S. as a fond remembrance our trip and special times at the Crockgarve Farmhouse B&B. My ancestors were born & raised just down the road from the B&B. Ironically, as a teen, Margo herself worked as a waitress at a hotel which was located on the same property. She thought many of her hospitality and menu delights were gleaned from working there in her youth. Ulysses S. Grant's grandfather's homestead was also located just down the road and has been beautifully restored for public display. Good conversation was enjoyed around a warm and comforting fireplace at tea time and in the evening! I can only say that I felt like I was leaving family when she dropped us at the bus station that morning! I told Margo I had only 3 sisters and no brothers, but could have lovingly called her my 4th sister after the special care and concern she showed while we were visiting there! Thank you so much Margo & family for starting us off on a dream trip of a lifetime!!!
