My flight was delayed and I tried to notify the property that I would be arriving after the reception closing time (6pm). The phone number provided on the booking was wrong, the one on their website was a call center and no one answered, and I didn't get any email instructions from them. I arrived at midnight and ... SURPRISE: I was locked out! Luckily I met by chance a girl who was staying there and was coming back so she let me in to stay warm. I keep calling unanswered for at least another hour. In the end I settled on the sofa in the living room to sleep without blankets, but it was always better than sleeping on the street or having to look for a new structure in the middle of the night. The next day they admitted the phone number was wrong, apologized and eventually gave me the room I had paid for. They provided proof that they sent the instruction email, but I never received it (I had checked even if it was in spam, and nothing), otherwise I would have slept on the sofa because I felt like it ??? On the same day, the same thing happened to a guy like me who didn't receive any emails they say they sent. Maybe they were having problems with their systems that day? Yet no, it is our fault because ... Final surprise ... Although they admitted that the phone number was wrong, they did not want to refund me the night I paid for and for which I did not receive the service purchased, also risking having to sleep out or spend more money on a new accommodation. Fortunately, hotels.com provided me with a small discount coupon. Thanks Hostel.com! You, on the other hand, are real dishonest thieves, keep those 36 euros well!

Stayed here with a friend in a private room for 4 nights while exploring Dublin. Highly recommend—there’s a reason why all the reviews are generally positive. The front desk staff is super friendly and helpful, ask them for recommendations of places to go/ directions/ general knowledge about the area! Super knowledgeable and welcoming. The kitchen isn’t super big but it’s well equipped and the common room/eating area is large enough. Can’t speak to the experience of being in a dorm but the private room was lovely, very clean and bright and a decent amount of floor space. You will hear if anyone is talking at all loudly in the hall outside, or through an open window across the “courtyard”, but that’s hostelling for you. If you’re a light sleeper though, earbuds might not go amiss. Amazing location with pretty much all major Dublin tourist attractions within a half hour walk, and 5 mins from Tara Street DART station. For eating out, too many great cafés to name, but would particularly recommend the Literary Café right next door or Bread 41 on Pe**** St. It was awesome to be close to Temple Bar—if you are walking around there, however, just have wits about you as we were approached for money, quite boldly, by homeless folks multiple times. Just what you would expect from any downtown though. The hostel is very secure as you get buzzed in after the desk staff see you on camera by the front door, and you have an electric keycard for your room. All rooms have small safes. If you’re leaving after room-checkout time, there is a luggage room (“leave at own risk” but the door is locked and the front desk has the key, so only hostel guests have access), and also a variety of sizes of lockers im the lobby for your valuables. 5 stars, will definitely be back!
The Leeson Lodge

Lodge is located in residential area, quiet neighborhood and near the center (15 minutes walking) Small room, with everything necessary and space optimization: closet where you can store your bags so that they do not block the transit, The hotel is located in the heart of the city, and the hotel is located in the heart of the city. Reservation does not include breakfast, but in our stay they offered breakfast of simple, but sufficient kindness: fruit, bread, butter, marmelade and cakes. The room was too small, it included a water spoon that is insufficient, the whole bathroom was disabled with a shower****. The rooms are only accessible by staircase.

We was staying there for an event we had booked. I asked for an iron and I waited 30minutes and it never arrived after being told it would be brought up. Only negative.

Hostels around the world need to take note of what a real hostel is — and that's Jacobs Inn Hostel in Dublin. Located in the center of Dublin and easy to locate, you're greeted with friendly, warm staff who can help you with anything you need. Advice on landmarks, restaurants, events, they have an answer. The commons area is packed full of people working, socializing or just simply relaxing. Music is not too loud so communicating and working is made easy. It's very atmospheric and it's a great place to make new friends on your travels. It's amazing decorated and their bar/dining area is incredible. Breakfast is served and you're offered a good variety to choose from. The rooms, or pods, are clean, well-maintained and the bathrooms are neat. You're afforded privacy in a modern fashion.

I had the 6 bed in one room for 3 nights and I had a very good experience at this hostel. The location is great and prices for Dublin are good and beds are clean and shower warm. Staff was ok. But you need to know what to expect. Don't make your experience in Dublin a 1/5 one. - This hostel is in an old building that will/can never be 100% clean. Germaphobes need not apply - This hostel is next to a cathedral and near the temple bar. So if you are a light sleeper avoid. - There are no elevators or lifts. If you cant walk a few flights of stairs.please avoid. - In this hostel, there seems to be a few guys from the streets. I don't know if they are guests or a charity thing. But they just stay in the common area watching TV. If that worries you don't book. - Right now, some of their shower and bathroom need repair and some of the bathroom are mixed. If that bugs you then please avoid. -This hostel has strict policy on refunds and payment. So ask before booking. Last tip, you might not need a locker, a locker is 3 extra euro a night. But i found the lockable box under my bed was more than enough.
