Butlers Townhouse

A beautiful Dublin townhouse in leafy Ballsbridge. Only a 2 minute walk to Landsdowne road to the Aviva Stadium and the Dart rail service. A 5 minute walk both ways to some lovely restaurants, cafes and bars so an ideal location. I stayed here because I had a Visa appoin**ent at the US embassy which is also only a 5 minute stroll from the hotel door. The room was clean and very spacious, high ceilings and large windows. Microwave and fridge in the lounge which came in very handy as we had brought our own breakfast. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Only negative was one of the curtains in the bedroom seemed to have come off its rail and was half hanging down and could not be fixed because the window was too high!! However it just about covered the window to block the street lights so no big deal. Just to note, check out is 10am which is earlier than other hotels and the cleaners were knocking on the door at 9.55 so it's pretty much on the dot!!

Convenient locations, easy to travel to tour spots. Quiet place to stay, but little self service.

Had an awful experience trying to check in our code were never sent to enter the building, there’s no reception just a phone number to ring which we spent a whole HOUR calling and nobody picked up! When we asked at 7am the next morning to book another night we were told we had to wait for the manager who never showed up to work and then phoned at 11am to say there were no rooms available despite there still being rooms to book online. All in all was not a good experience and I won’t be going back.

Never received an email confirmation with the door code/room number. Sat outside for almost an hour until someone let us in. We had to call someone about getting the information and he was very rude and Hung up on us. It was a nice facility but the service was very poor.

Everything was lovely and very cosy, my only critique is that the toilit seat is pretty loose in room 19.

Pro: easy access. Very close to the aviva stadium and the train station next to it. Liked the victorian style. Con: credit card information needs to be provided over the phone too complete the payment. Checking in instructions only received late in the day of check in.

Great location in prestigious Dublin 4 area. Walking distance from shops, restaurants, bus stops-city center about 20 minutes away. Inside very cosy and bed was comfortable. things to improve the shower goes hot and cold randomly, the finishes on tile and door trims are poor in the bathroom- not a big deal, some missing paint/ dry rot? the tv is small and must be at least 20 years old Would be nice to have smart tv. Over all a good place to stay for a night or two. Safe and quite location.

Hard to find because poor markings/signs on building. No reception and overpriced.

We only stayed for the night, but the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.The shower was also very good. The hotel itself is located in a quiet part of the city, with easy access to the centre by foot (about 25-30 mins) and there are lots of fuses to take you to town and the airport
