The Alexander at Creek Road

We stayed in the Charlie for part of our spring break. The bed was comfortable and the view was awesome. We had a great time and everything was wonderful! We kind of missed the microwave that was advertised but other than that no complaints at all!

I made a booking on VRBO and was instantly confirmed. Shortly thereafter, I got a message from the host asking ME to cancel because they were charging three times as much on their own website. They gave no explanation. Of course, the actual reason was that this was the two days surrounding the eclipse and they realized they could charge three times the price. When I asked them to explain why I would cancel a booking that was already confirmed, they just unilaterally cancelled my reservation without explanation or apology. This, of course, is completely against VRBO policy. The lack of apology was absolutely shocking.

Our experience there was great. We looked at the hotels in the area but they were too expensive. This turned out to be inexpensive and a great place to stay. I accidentally booked not knowing it was an RV but surprised me by being perfect. We had a full bed, sofa bed, 3x bunk beds, TV, coffee " yum" and jugs of Texas drinking water. It was very clean and everything worked well. The area around the RV or caravan was very green and kept up since it's a wedding venue or event venue. There are other little houses and tree houses to stay in. It was easy to get the same street to go straight to HWY 290 to get to all the wineries and breweries. LOL Loved it.

Loved most everything about this quaint resort. We were in town for a wedding at Camp Lucy so the location was perfect. It’s also not far from town should you want to go out to dinner. We found the decor to be very homey and tasteful and the small kitchen to be very well stocked. We loved that there was a Brita pitcher available although I would add tea bags (I don’t drink coffee) and a small ice tray so one doesn’t have to trek to the barn for ice. The bathroom was small but adequate with a standard size tub/shower. We appreciated the long mirrors in the bathroom but an additional small mirror in the cabin would be helpful as we had everyone trying to get ready at once and I have two daughters soooooo. I would have given it a five but both beds springs in Lone Star are very creaky and need to be replaced as they are loud enough that they wake others up early should one person need to get up. The staff was very helpful and quick to respond. We did not mind the owner’s or caretaker’s home being close (it’s no different than having another guest in another cottage however would have liked access to play with their adorable puppy as the fence was too tall 😊. It was cold and rainy so did not explore the property but it looked like a lovely setting for a wedding.

I decided to stay at the Alexander while I was in the area on a business trip and I have to say I enjoyed it very much. It was quiet and relaxing and I loved the open feel of the property. It's convenient to town and was a short drive from my office in Driftwood. Just one note, the shower is designed with small rocks lining the floor and walls (see photo) which can be rough on the feet so I'd recommend taking some shower shoes with you if you're going to stay here. Nice place and I would definitely stay here again in the future.
