The good: the hotel and the rooms were lovely and very clean. Breakfast was excellent, with great coffee and many choices. The not-so-good: I realize it was a special event weekend in Decorah - but $319 a night? For a Fairfield Inn? Is it legal to raise prices that much for a weekend? I guess it must be. If the answer is, well just stay somewhere else - there is no where else. Supply and demand on a weekend like this. I wonder how Arne Sorenson - former CEO of Marriott International and a graduate of Luther College - would feel about these price hikes.

We were first-time guests at this property, here for a family funeral in a neighboring community. Terri Byrnes and her crew run an amazing hotel, and everyone was more than accommodating to our adjustments as we grieved. Honestly, everything was top-notch, EVERY day. We will be back, especially knowing how beautiful this property is in this part of NE Iowa.

So VERY PLEASED with this hotel. We had been out running rain all day on a motorcycle (which later turned into a tornado) and Tony at the front desk was so unbelievably kind and friendly - we felt guilty for only staying 1 night. Someone should give Tony a raise!! This is still a very new hotel and everything is super clean. The breakfast had Jimmy Dean sausage and egg sandwiches and mini cheese/spinach quiches!!! You will NOT be disappointed!

Best hotel in the area. Still relatively new & nice & clean. Good location on the highway. Service from the gentleman at the front desk was terrific. Free upgrade! Only negative would be price, but I travel enough to know that when you are in an area like this where there’s few options, you’re going to pay for a good hotel, plus it’s a holiday weekend.

A couple of things I want you to know about this hotel: 1) Spotless. Public areas and guest rooms. 2) Breakfast area is exceptionally clean and organized. 3) Housekeepers are friendly. Front desk is outgoing. 4) Parking was just feet away from the front door. 5) Felt safe and secure. 6) Well maintained exercise equipment. It's a little crazy this hotel isn't ranking in the top three. Crazy.

This is a Fairfield designed from the start and is like any other newer Fairfield. We had a king suite. There is an end table with table lamps on both sides. There is a small closet with an ironing board and iron. There is a chest of drawers with two large drawers. There is a TV on the bedroom side. The living room side also has a TV, computer desk with lamp and computer chair with wheels, a 3-section couch with two round coffee tables and a floor lamp. The bathroom had a shower and no tub. The toiletries are bottles on the wall with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. They were Alice C0 On the sink there was a little bottle of body lotion and a small bar of soap. There was also a hairdryer. It has a indoor pool with towels. Nice laundry room but it only has one washer and one dryer. Can't say much about the breakfast as this is hubby's hometown and we didn't eat breakfast at the restaurant.

We returned for another stay at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Decorah. This time for Nordic Fest 2023. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. It was clean and room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast is the standard for the typical hotel breakfast. Nice dining area. Pool was clean and well maintained. Maybe could use a few more breakfast choices, but again good overall. The property is close to downtown and local restaurants. What my wife and I really appreciate is great customer service. The staff a the Decorah Fairfield exceeded the expectations. It is always nice to get a warm welcome when checking in after a long day of travel. Tony was great on check in and Amanda great on check out. Kudos to all the staff for a great stay in Decorah for Nordic Fest 2023. You represent the Community of Decorah well. We look forward to another visit in the future Tusen Takk!

Just stayed one night as passing through. Hotel is fairly new, felt clean and fresh. Our room was great with a nice bathroom that felt very new. Breakfast was nice and the staff were very helpful and friendly. While in town check out Dunning's Spring park!

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the the three years our daughter has attended Luther College. It is a wonderful hotel with great facilities, friendly staff and a convenient location. The rooms are deep which helps with hallway noise. The hotel is pet friendly and the breakfast is most often impressive. They have recycling and an EV charger. It is our favorite Fairfield Inn.
