Hotel River Front

Приехали в этот отель в районе 12-13 часов дня номер не был готов минут 20 ждали.. Принесли приветственные коктейли. Номер дали не тот что бронировали но да ладно.. Кондер шумный на первом этаже.. Есть пати возле номера.. На территории полно гусениц.. Рядом река, а это значит комары кусают как дикие.. Бассейн холодный так как он в зарослях... Лежаки с муравьями и водой после дождя.. Не видели чтоб их убирали.. За территорией следят без конца подметают тропинки.. Шумновато в номере и отеле. Горячая вода была. Завтрак стандартный ланкийский без всяких удивлений.. Брали куриный суп в отеле одна вода. Персонал дружелюбный.

Our stay at Hotel River Front was a mixed experience with notable highs and lows. Starting with the positives, the service at the hotel was good. The staff were friendly and made an effort to ensure our comfort. The amenities provided were also satisfactory, contributing to a generally comfortable stay despite some of the hotel's shortcomings. One of the highlights of our visit was the safari tour arranged by the hotel. It was a fantastic experience, but we learned a valuable lesson: booking a full-day tour might not be the best option. The tour started with a 4 am pickup, and by midday, we were exhausted. A half-day tour ending around noon would have been more than sufficient and could have saved us quite a bit of money. This advice would have been appreciated beforehand. However, there were several areas where the hotel could improve. The food was average at best, lacking the flavors and variety we had hoped for. Additionally, an older gentleman was frequently seen roaming the premises with his big belly exposed, and he had an unpleasant habit of spitting on the floor, which was quite off-putting. The bathroom in our room was terrible, with outdated fixtures and cleanliness issues that needed urgent attention. While the pool was small, it was adequate for a quick dip and relaxation. The "River View" advertised by the hotel was rather misleading, as it turned out to be more of a muddy stream than a picturesque river. In summary, Hotel River Front offers good service and a well-organized safari tour, but there are significant areas that need improvement. With a focus on upgrading the food quality, bathroom facilities, and providing accurate descriptions of the views, the hotel could enhance the overall guest experience.

We made the booking 10 months in advance and they canceled it 2 weeks before arrival as "they had too many bookings". They didn't even say we are sorry. Nothing to help in the situation. Don't trust them unless you are ready to be screwed in the last minute

We had booked this accommodation (Room 206) directly with the hotel over call, basis the google reviews (which I have serious doubts on - upon perusal I found most of reviews are doctored and manipulated - look for common language // like - cannot fault it, broken English by Europeans guests). The room was very clean, however later found some stains on bedsheets when we opened them. The shower was broken and water pressure was extremely weak in all room outlets, we had to ask for a bucket and kettle for bath. We had requested for room change on second day but they straight away rejected. They had also arranged a full day safari with meals for $205 for two people which we later found was a rip-off. They messed up our meal preferences too. They charge additional 3% on credit card payment. The staff is very good to talk to, specially Mr. Dole. They realized we were put off and ultimately gave was 500+ LKR on the meal bill. However due to above mentioned points we were left disappointed.

Nice hotel and great value for money - we really enjoyed our stay here. The hosts are very welcoming and the pool area and garden is very nice. We stayed in the tree house and it was very clean and had a nice balcony. The hotel organised a safari for us and even organised for another hotel guest to join us to reduce the price. The safari was very good and I would recommend booking through this hotel. The hotel also helped us to book a reasonably priced taxi to our next location. We also used the hotel restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food for each was great and reasonably priced. If you’re looking to come here for a Yala National Park safari, I would recommend staying here!
