Niriis Hotel

Very close to the beach and taverns. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that although it is classified with only one star, it is very very clean. George, the owner, is a gentleman and helps you with anything you need. Pleasantly surprised, beautiful experience, definitely worth booking at this hotel. I will definitely come back here during one of my vacations next year

Great staff, friendly and very helpful. Amazing location 100m from 3 beaches! Very Clean and quiet. Tall George and taller Peter (methinks) are both great guys, always ready to help and manage Niriis like pros!

Incredible deal, quick walk to four beaches, informational and kind staff. George and team did everything in their power to ensure we had a nice stay filled with Cretan culture. They booked our trip to Knossos, and helped us navigate the local bus system. We stayed in a private room with a perfectly sized kitchen and private bathroom. We also had a lovely balcony overlooking the jasmine of the next hotel over. Thank you so so much for having us, we had such a wonderful stay and definitely plan to return.

The hotel is very clean, the area is nice, you have a bus station to Chania 3 mins away from the hotel. Did not try the nearby restaurants but you have a couple of options from what I’ve seen. The only complaint would be that you need mobile data since the Wi-Fi is very slow, but mobile data has good speed so I didn’t mind.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you have any trouble you can expect them to solve it with a smile. Rooms are nice and as you would expect from a budget hotel. The only downside would be the lack of modern ventilation which does let the air humidity get quite high especiqlly after a shower. Other than that I would very much recommend The hotel!

Nice, clean hotel with good beds near everything you need on your holiday. No pool, but beaches so close who would need one :) Helpful staff. Enjoyed our stay!

For many years I have traveled 100 or more days a year. In SEP-OCT 2022, I traveled for a month in Greece staying at 12 hotels (and on an overnight Ferry). Within this context Niriis Hotel was well below average PROS: The room was spacious and with a decently provided kitchen (supermarket food was very inexpensive in Crete) CONS: Niriss Hotel has hostal-type dorms in the ground floor and the private rooms are reach by climbing long and steep stairs. The service by the women attending during the day was very bad. There was not even a hint of help with my luggage. In my 3 night at Niriis, there was NO change of towels and when I asked for one, the woman wanted to charge me several Euros extra. I had to wait for check out (and a young man for check inn) because the attendants did not appear at the posted time. After phoning, the owner appeared for my check out. In contrast to the owner, the regular attendants are rude and useless. Niriis is located several miles from the center of town, so you need a car (or pay exorbitant taxis). The hotel has no parking and the street is too narrow to leave the car, so my rental car slept several blocks away. The hotel is nearby a couple of beaches which were unremarkable. Next time in Xania/Chania, I will not stay at Niriis but instead at a hotel in the old town which is a much nicer area. Parting remarks: Greece is wonderful, except for the touristic islands which were crowded even in October and I may skip them altogether next time. Crete has many attractions and some great beaches but choose carefully your hotels. The Peloponesse resulted better than expected. Athens was safe anytime anywhere I moved, even after midnight. Travel light because not all hotels have elevators (and like at Niriis you will be on your own) and in ancient towns you will climb many stairs and walk over cobblestones. Missing church number 59 was OK, sitting in a café watching people go by and doing nothing was inspiring even for hyper me. I had a wonderful trip.

Clean room - every 2 days new towels - every 4 days new bed sheets. Location near nice and child friendly beach (± 500 meter). Very friendly receptionists who were eager to help us with the questions that came up. A negative point was the position of the TV. Place to high to have a comfortable viewing.

Niriis hotel has a great location, there are 3-4 sandy beaches in walking distance. There is a frequent bus route (no.21) stop nearby, that takes you to the city central bus station. The staff is very kind and helpful, they also offer leisure programs, short trips, and help us where to go near by.
