The bathroom in our room had a really bad odor coming from the tub drain (very strong urine smell, especially when turning on the shower). We complained but things did not change. We expected a different standard for the price we payed and the reviews the hotel had.

We have been to this hotel several times and the staff is their secret. Everyone is marvelous, but the concierge was amazing! We had reservations and cancelations due to illness and then new last minute reservations to visit an ill relative. Any time, day or night, she was there by text to help us. I made my reservations directly with her and she has been our angel. The food is also delicious and true setting magical and the rooms huge and wonderful.

Hotel is amazing. Gardens, rooms, (loud) peacocks and parrots, softest towels ever. The reason for four stars instead of five is the restaurant. Expensive as you would expect for a hotel of this level, but really not very good. I ate there two nights and was not happy with anything. Wine by the glass ($15) was undrinkable, and the cheapest bottle was $55. There's nowhere else nice to go nearby, so I would recommend taking a taxi and not eating at the hotel. Breakfast was fine. You may also need earplugs as the peacocks call all night (take a listen on YouTube). It's good that this is a "destination" hotel because frankly Cuernavaca is not that nice. You're better off staying in and enjoying the garden and the birds.

Enjoyed a refreshment in the beautiful patio surrounded by peacocks and a wandering tortoise. Parrots perched nearby. Worth a visit with or without a meal. Pleasant service and very relaxing. Nice oasis within the city of Cuernavaca. Very enjoyable!

Found this hotel through Relais and Chateaux network, known for fine cuisine and luxe accommodations - it did not disappoint with old school Mexican hacienda charm (other reviewers mentioning updates miss this concept). The hotel rooms are large with classic furniture, wood burning fireplaces, ample terraces and beautiful bathrooms. The grounds are incredible - white and azure peacocks, flamingos and tortoises roaming green rolling hills. The pool is nicely heated, stunning and not crowded. The spa is decadent, relaxing, excellent therapists and peaceful. The restaurant is very good, but not excellent. The waiters are kind, but need to be more attentive (training?). The food is well prepared, but menu needs updating to reflect current eating trends (sides, seasoning , diet preferences). In addition, service at the pool needs to be more frequent. Drinks are delicious. Dulce the concierage was excellent and made our experience wonderful. Andrea and Karen were also charming and professional. If you are looking to truly escape CDMX or travel to a luxe destination and utterly relax this is your place.

The staff of this hotel are exceptional, not only will you always be called by name, they make note of your likings and they will appear sometimes unexpected. The gardens are world class with birds to interact. The tortoises just might appear to say hello. The restaurant has an extensive menu with each item created in their kitchen, all from scratch. The spa is fabulous, too. If you schedule an hour massage, expect it to last two hours with the preparation and then relaxation afterwards. We were here in February and would be back in the fall, but have made other preparations. We will be back in the winter to the city of eternal spring.

This place discriminates just because you don’t have the proper attire as soon as enter the door … I have been eating inside before and not really impress with the food or service , BUT I had some friends that wanted to visit this place and we were rejected..

I recommend the restaurant and its staff- very good quality. But I don’t recommend the hotel. The staff at the checking and check out desk is not professional. Each time I asked a service they told they will come back to me but never did it. The beds in the room 7 are just horrible, 2 separate beds when I reserved a large one for a couple. The mattress were fatigued you fall in one side or other . I explained it at the check out, the lady told me she will check immediately then let me go without any explanation. I am from France and I know château hotel service, this one does not really worth it. The gym room is open from 8am to 8pm?!! You can’t workout before the breakfast like in many hotels in the world ….. and closing at 8pm it is to early… To much expansive for what you have….

Once you enter to the hotel, you cannot hear the noise and traffic of Cuernavaca. It's a beautiful and peaceful place. The gardens are well maintained. Exotic birds are everywhere, and they add more beauty to the place. They have two pools; one is located at the spa, but both are peaceful places ideal for enjoying the sun, reading a book, and sipping a drink. No people made noise or splashed loudly at the pool. The food at the restaurant is delicious. They have a wide variety of plates. All the staff, waiters, bellboys, receptionists, valet parking, and spa staff are always willing to help with a smile. Even the gardener was willing to answer my questions about some plants. I traveled with my parents, that are old and slow. Everyone was very patient with them. Also, my teens felt safe around the property day and night. The rooms are rustic, colonial style, and clean, and upon our arrival, they had a basket with fruit, cookies, and macarons. The massage at the spa was excellent. Linens were clean, and the room was zen decorated and had a pleasant eucalyptus smell. We had three lovely days, and we hope to return soon.
