A beautiful hotel in a beautiful part of the country. We were welcomed warmly on arrival and the experience had that authentic Irish high-end feel to it. Really good check in experience and a very good room (junior suite). Lovely bar area with very attentive service. Our three star review is due to two main issues. 1. Our experience in the Cedars restaurant was not good and was out of step with the rest of the hotel experience. Food was high quality but service was poor. The food was thrown at us, very short gaps between courses, wine served several minutes after the food had arrived, waiting staff were snappy and clearly didn’t want to be there. They were understaffed, but in addition to that the service culture was not evident in the people serving us. We couldn’t wait to get back to the bar (which was excellent again). And 2, the room was lovely but way too warm and there was no facility to adjust the temperature. So, overall slightly disappointing as we left unrested.

Externally the hotel needs some investment. Nice entrance and very pleasant welcome. Good clean room though bathroom needs a bit of a refurb. Leisure facilities very good, changing area needs an uplift. Breakfast good with plenty of options and friendly staff. Had dinner one night in the bar and it was ok. Now the real downside...if you want a nights sleep ask for a room well down a corridor. Never been in a hotel with so much noise and so many doors that bang right through the night to 5am! - inconsiderate patrons and the hotel infrastructure should be better

First time at this hotel went with a friend to relax for 2 days, room 102 was amazing had a great view and was very clean and very quiet, all the staff were very friendly I felt veey at home, we ate at the hotel both nights and I can not fault the food at all was simply amazing 1st night I had the crispy chicken cream leek and pancetta 3nd night I had the battered cod which was to die for also their homemade tartar sauce wow! Breakfast choice was outstanding and the poached eggs both mornings were perfect I was able to custom my breakfast with no bother, I would definitely book this hotel again
