Our family had the most incredible time at the Shandon for the Magical Christmas Experience—it was truly a trip we’ll never forget! From the moment we checked in, the magic began. My girls were thrilled to receive a special letter to write their lists to Father Christmas and a delightful treat bag. Their excitement was through the roof, and we hadn’t even started the activities yet! The grotto was enchanting—meeting Mrs Claus and capturing some stunning photos with beautiful backdrops was such a highlight. My girls especially adored Elsa’s throne and the Grinch room! Afterwards, we visited the elves, where the kids were treated to hot chocolate and cookies, a perfect little moment before heading back to our room. But the absolute pinnacle was the visit from Father Christmas. He was, without a doubt, the best Father Christmas we have ever encountered. His warmth, attention to detail, and genuine enthusiasm were unmatched. He knew my girls by name, asked about their Christmas wishes, and made them feel so special. My girls’ Christmas wish this year is for Shandon pool memberships. This brought such joy and excitement to Santa and he began telling them how he really enjoys time in the pool also. His elf was equally engaging, chatting about how busy Christmas Eve can be. The gifts they received were fantastic—my daughters were absolutely thrilled! Just when we thought the experience couldn’t get any better, the children’s disco blew us away! Initially, my girls were a little shy, but Mr Elf, the DJ, worked his magic with fun games and dances. Soon, every child was on the floor, laughing, dancing, and having the time of their lives. The conga line, Macarena, musical statues, and Christmas songs made it the most inclusive and entertaining children’s disco we’ve ever attended. Every child felt like they belonged, and the joy in the room was contagious! The next morning’s breakfast was a lovely way to round off the trip, and the pancakes were a big hit with my girls. Every moment of our stay was nothing short of pure magic, and the staff and organisers went above and beyond to make it so special. A simple "thank you" doesn’t feel like enough to express our gratitude, but to everyone involved—thank you for creating memories that we will cherish forever! 🎄✨

Would recommend this hotel. Very friendly staff, beautiful setting and good food. Nothing was a bother to the staff from offering you tea coffee water on arrival. Hotel rooms spotlessly clean, beds and pillows very comfortable, tea and coffee making in room supplies abundant. Excellent spa facilities very clean and staff very helpful, Had the pleasure of having a treatment staff excellent and very friendly and professional, if you want a nice relaxing break I would highly recommend here could not fault anything 😀

Our group consisted of 2 children, 2 grannies and a mammy. We booked directly with the Shandon hotel and all our needs, from accessible room to adjoining rooms were met. From our arrival until our departure 3 days later the holiday was everything we hoped for and more. The staff at reception were so welcoming and helpful. The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was well organised and every request was pleasantly dealt with. We ate in the bar on all three nights and there was enough variety on the menu that we could all have a different choice each night. The pool area was really clean and inviting and the attendants took their duties seriously. The hotel is close to beautiful beaches and a forest park with a brilliant play area. This was our second time to stay in the Shandon and we will certainly be back again.

We had a fabulous stay at the Shandon. Such a beautiful hotel, the views and rooms are just stunning. The staff are very pleasant and the meal we had was amazing. Thank you to all the staff for a memorable stay. We hope to be back soon. We would highly recommend this hotel especially for couples.

A lovely hotel and spa in stunning surroundings. Rooms were comfortable making full use of the fabulous views.. Staff were very helpful and friendly . The spa experience was first class as was the buffet breakfast. This was our first visit to the Shandon we hope to return very soon.. If restaurant food was improved the rating would be excellent.. But we will definitely return in the future..

First time to visit the Shandon Hotel. Went as a family of 8 adults and 4 children for the weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday. The view from the bedroom is outstanding, and we had 4 bedrooms side by side so the children could go from one room to the other.
