The Lakes by Yoo

We had a lovely evening, good food and singer but BEWARE you do not get your receipt until you have paid, it seemed really expensive so checked the receipt and we had been charged for an extra main which ,y daughter had cancelled within two minutes of ordering so it wasn’t brought out and was cancelled, on ringing the restaurant they promised a refund within 2 to 4 days, after 10 days wel rang again to which we was told an email had been sent, nothing in our emails or spam besides we still had not received a refund, as you can imagine this left us disappointed so we also asked for our tip to be refunded because of lack of communication and the wait we had for the refund. Today 12 days after our visit we had the refund for the extra main course but no refund of the service, hence why we will not be going back, please check your receipt folks!

Wow. If I could add more stars, I most definitely would ! I’ve never been anywhere so relaxing with such gorgeous views and lovely food. We stayed in the cosy room, which was right next to the spa, and only a couple of minutes walk to the bar & kitchen. The room was small, and very cosy ! It had a lovely balcony (not overlooking the lakes, but this wasn’t an issue as we spent most of our time walking or out eating) and the whole room looked like it had been decorated very recently, not a paintwork scratch in sight ! The room got quite warm, but luckily the new Samsung heater/air-con system was brilliant. The only thing I’d change about it, is a more powerful shower, but heyho, it did the job ! The spa was lovely, clean and quiet, and the full body massage was one of the best I’ve had. Our masseuse explained what she’d do, told us the products she’d be using, and asked if there were any specific areas she should focus on or avoid, which I thought was a nice touch. One of the chaps on reception showed us round and showed us where the gym, sauna, steam room etc were, and also provided us with complimentary robes and flip flops for the day All the staff we came across were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the other guests were too The pictures don’t do the place justice at all. It’s a lot bigger and more picturesque than you could possibly capture on pictures and videos ! We loved walking round the lakes and admiring the other lodges I’d come back here in a heartbeat

We had the best breakfast! Everything was cooked to perfection and we had a great morning. Ellen was great, her service was attentive and so welcoming! We really enjoyed our experience and would happily recommend to our friends and family!

Lovely stay, super clean and nicely decorated. spa area was amazing when empty. This is a great location when wanting to adventure into the Cotswolds The hotel itself doesn’t feel like a hotel, it doesn’t quite know what it is the hotel facilities feel like a last min add on and there is a constant awareness of properties / apartments being sold. The grounds and properties are still being developed and you can’t walk closely to the lakes around mostly due to the private property’s so you end up walking around the back of buildings With regard to activities they are limited to book (though we did go in feb) you have to have a min number to do some of these which is not great for couples I wouldn’t not describe the room as superior it’s fairly small and has the basics of just a kettle with tea and coffee. The balcony is shared meaning the people next door could have the ability to walk up to you bedroom door and bathroom window. Overall it was a lovely stay and really enjoyed ourselves though would of expected a bit more for the price.

The pictures of the hotel part don’t really do it justice and I’d suggest an external shot is added to advertising material. Facilities are really impressive, stylish and design led, albeit the hot tub wasn’t working during our stay. Overall, I definitely come back and stay in one of the larger properties.

Still under construction, felt unestablished. Spa was ok but nothing special. The bedroom was lovely but no fresh milk or biscuits. No ambience. I think it’s trying to be an upmarket Center Parcs but doesn’t work from our experience.

After recommended this place to friends and family we decided to visit again this being our 5th visit only to be disappointed with a huge drop in standards, firstly the cleaning standards were extremely poor hardly being able to see out of the dirty windows, the tables weren't cleaned properly, dust was on the backs of the seating the floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in week ,the dress Code of the staff were in joggers and trainers although they were polite. It's such a shame to see a drop o In standards.

We stayed in a 3-bedroom apartment which was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for our family. The spa was lovely and the massage one of the best I’ve had. What we felt really let Lakes By Yoo down was the restaurant.. there’s only one on site, with a limited menu, and it’s a tent so we were absolutely freezing. Really felt they missed a trick not offering a range of eateries.

Wonderful, romantic stay at the lakes with my husband. The staff were faultless, really helpful and welcoming. We will be returning asap and are already looking at dates we can return in the spring.
